My favorite overall was Seven, though I do wish they'd let the character arc go as a Borg that was acculturating to humanity rather than her just becoming human again.

In the first year Chakotay was my favorite, maverick Marquis opposite straitlaced federation captain had fireworks and an energy that Trek hasn't had for me since TOS. Sadly, the character languished as the series went on.

I liked the Doctor purely for Picardo's acting. He was a pleasure to watch, but as a part of the ship, I can't imagine why Janeway didn't reboot him till she got the Doc she wanted. Overall though, he was great fun.

I liked Neelix, he was an everyman of sorts. Used too often as only comic relief he faded into an annoying one note joke too often, but when he shone he was great. At his best, he strove to do the best, despite what he might have been afraid he felt himself to be. His best stories were what I watch Trek for.

Lastly Janeway, she was written all over the map. Hidebound starfleet officer, maverick, scientist, obsessive, and all around complex character. I feel that it was only Mulgrew's acting that kept the character believable. The many faces of Janeway could have been far too discordent in another actor's hands.

I've never really thought about my favorite character. They're all pretty irritating when I stop and think about it. I have seen all but two episodes, so it's not like I'm not a fan of the show.

I would probably have to go with Tuvok.

I like the Chakotay (et al) that never had a chance to be, due to the sudden overuse of Seven. To Ryan's credit she certainly delivered what was demanded of her.

Also? Chakotay was tougher than Janeway, but was never really allowed to show it, especially in a direct confrontation. It's one thing to be a tough woman. It's another thing to need an emasculated man to do it. (Not always, but...).

However it would have been nice to get some specifics on Chakotay's culture, even if it were made up. I mean, what kind of Indian was he anyway? Surely he would know, yes? I guess the writers didn't want to specify to avoid touchy issues.

I really like them all pretty much, though some more than others. And I don't think I have to tell you who my favorite is, right? You all know it by now.

BTW, it's good to see some Tuvie-love here on this board!

Check out the first two seasons. The first season is the best but his acting is what keeps you around for the second.
Ok, I just checked it out at Amazon, and I must say I'm steamed. I live a five-minute walk from Illinois' Fox River, and it's a beautiful, natural area here. There is no such thing as a penitentiary anywhere in the Fox River Valley, which river is dotted by affluent communities (not to say we particularly are affluent). Those Hollywood jerks have done it again.

As to the show, it's got 5 stars with nearly 200 reviews, so it does sound interesting.
Sounds about like what the Sopranos did for New Jersey.

Who's your fav poll

I made a poll to choose who your favorite main character in Voyager is.

(It also gave me a chance to play with the new thread merge tool.)

Welcome to the board army...

My favrotie character is Seven of Nine. My other favorite characters are also Tom, B'Elanna, and Tuvok. Although, I do like the whole cast except for Kes

So glad to see some fellow Chakotay fans on here that arent ridiculing him or anything. :) But I loved the whole cast and would have preferred Chakotay as an ex-Maquis captain. He was so hot when he was angry!

He was a cooler character when he was angry too.

One ofthe best scenes in "Fury" is when he tells Harry to rip the ship apart to escape the Vidiians. I jumped out of my seat and shouted at the TV: "HELL'S YEAH, CHAKOTAY!!!"

I liked The Doctor the best - Picardo played him to perfection. I also liked B'Elanna, Seven and Janeway.
