Who do you think is the greatest/most influential officer in Starfleet history? I don't care about your definition of "great." I just want to know who you give the title to.
The reason for the question is that I've noticed, as I've been watching TNG again, that Picard was involved in so many critical, history making situations and given so many honors that it seemed as though the PTB were making him out to be the "greatest" and most influential Starfleet officer in history. So, the question came to my mind about who might be considered the greatest.
A separate question might be asked about the greatest or most influential officer in Federation history. Sarek would be a top candidate for that title, according to Picard, and I would agree with that.
