Who would you want to write for Star Trek?

I'm actually very excited to see what Orci & Kurtzman do with Trek XI. I'd also like to see what would happen if JJ Abrams himself wrote something. Or maybe Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.

I'd kill to see something by Joss Whedon. And Tim Minear.

Also, though he's obviously written for Trek before, I would love to see what Ron Moore (and David Eick) would do with Trek now that Berman isn't in charge.

Have you seen Transformers?

I liked it a lot. I thought it was amazing.

I'm looking forward to the next trek movie a little more now.

David Mamet! Yea! Fucking goin' boldly where no fucker had gone be-fuckin-fore!

^A Trek script co-written by David Milch and David Mamet would have some of the most brilliantly profane dialogue in the history of filmed entertainment. And, of course, it would have to star Alec Baldwin, Dennis Franz, and Ian McShane.

I would pay big to see a Mamet/Milch Trek

Lots of snappy dialog...lots of cussing...twists and turns. it would be brilliant

Written and directed by Nicholas Meyer.

Star Trek feature films peaked creatively in 1991. Everythig else since then have simply been hack jobs of previous TNG, DS9, and VOY episodes, as well as previously successful feature films (such as TWOK and TUC).

It was a great period when th eoriginal show had eps written by some noted novelists like Ellison, Sturgeon, Spinrad... ah, those were the days.

Dennis Franz must be in the new movie. Must, must, must! Someone call JJ.

Would it be stereotyping to say he should play the ship's security chief? :p

Alternately, I think he would make a fantastic Klingon.
