Who were your favorite characters?

starlitegirl

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Here's my list:

1. The Doctor - he just fascinates me and is very amusing for a hologram...
2. Kes - I wish she stayed for all seven seasons. I loved how they evolved her abilities in season three. She could have been amazing. She was one of the best characters on the show!
3. Seven - mostly because she was a Borg. Since TNG where they liberated a drone (I think the episode was 'One') I loved the idea of it. Seven was fascinating, plus all her Borg skills and knowledge made it very interesting from the scifi tech angle.
4. Janeway - Sometimes I wondered if she could spit fire or shoot death rays from her eyes. This was one fierce woman and yet she had compassion too.

I also liked Paris, Tuvok, Torres and Neelix but they weren't my favorites. Harry was pretty dull. Chakoti was somewhere above Harry but not in the same league as Paris, Tuvok, Torres and Neelix.

1. Janeway
2. Tuvok
3. The Doctor
4. B'Elanna
5. Tom
6. Chakotay
7. Neelix
8. Seven
9. Harry

Btw, "One" was an episode of Voyager, I believe the episode of TNG you are referring too is "I, Borg" :)

Shoot.

I knew I was forgetting someone, and I never forget Kes. Kes would be in between Tom and Chakotay. So a 6 for me.

1. Captain Bathar of Hodos
2. Prax
3. Torat

Am I forgetting anyone?

1. Kes
2. Chakotay
3. Janeway
4. Paris
5. Tuvok
6. Torres
7. The Doctor
8. Neelix
9. Kim
10. Seven

A hard and fast order is tough, but I'd arrange the main cast thusly:

Upper Tier:
Holodoc
Tuvok
Kes

Middle Tier:
B'Elanna
Tom
Seven
Janeway

Lower Tier:
Chakotay
Harry
Neelix

Tuvok & Torres are my two favorites.

The Doctor used to be cool early in the series, but when he became one of the "Big Three" (with Janeway & Seven) he really started to suck.

Didn't really care for the others, though they were occasionally interestin'...

:adore: Seven Of Nine :adore:

The Doctor
Janeway
Kes
Paris
Tuvok
Torres
Neelix
Kim
Chakotay :ack:

Seven: Hers are the episodes I am most likely to re-watch. I didn't care for the return me to humanity line, but overall her episodes are my favorites.

Janeway/Doctor: Pretty even though if having to choose I'd take Janeway over the Doc.

Neelix/Tuvok: Actors and characters given too little to do. Neelix was too often the butt of some joke and Tuvok was used well but I wished more had been done.

Belanna/Paris: I liked her and missed the character interaction with Janeway after Seven came on board. I didn't mind the growing relationship with Tom, but it seemed to be her only one after that.

Chakotay: I liked him a lot at the outset, but the character turned into forgettable even by the end of the first season. I don't mind Beltran's work as much as others, but a stronger presence for the character was much needed. I could have been as happy had they killed off the character and put Tuvok as XO and Tactical/Security. Like Spock he'd have another job when the captain was on the bridge. By season 4 the writers seemed to have forgotten the Marquis had any special storyline so?

Kes: About the same as Chakotay, the actress did a fine job I just thought the idea of the Occampans as such a short lived species was rather hard to take. Nothing against her, but her departure didn't especially bother me.

Kim: Easily replaceable, no good excuse for getting rid of Lien to keep Garret Wang. They'd have been as well off getting rid of both than just her.

They all had their own positives and negatives, but the only character who I could say I more then liked was Tuvok, excellent and consistent, I'd want him on my team :p

I think that once she joined the cast, the episodes seemed to be much more science and technology based. I felt they used more technology, faced more interesting phenomenon, and even seemed much more science oriented. That was my main reason for putting her at the top of my list though I still thought it was interesting to watch her become more human in her interactions and behavior. This, however, doesn't include season one which had some great episodes. Season two not so much.

I found Seven more interesting when she and the crew were faced with realizing she really wasn't just human. Humorously in Omega Directive when she casually finishes Harry's Kaltoh game or explains her Borg enhanced knowledge. I guess it always depends on how the writers see the character. Some, I think felt she was Borg like Picard or other adults who'd been assimilated. Others, I think, kept more in thought that she was raised in a maturation chamber and significantly altered by the Borg. That would have left very little, if anything, to be remembered of her human life in light of her explanation to Harry about what the Borg retain of assimilated individuals. I prefer those stories that utilize and appreciate her uniqueness over those that try to remove her from being Seven to being poor assimilated Annika or guilt tripping over her Borg Collective past.

I loved the Women.
Voyager had the BEST WOMEN

Janeway: She's the best character I've ever seen and I'm a huge fan of the actor.
B'Elanna: I love the fire and tech savvy-ness...the turmoil between her too sides
Seven: Just what the show needed. Someone to stand up to Janeway
Kes: So wonderful, so pretty so soft...she was the real woman on the show.
