The one to fix my mushroom pizza: Stamets.
God, I do love a good mushroom pizza. Get Stamets in the kitchen, NOW!
The one to fix my mushroom pizza: Stamets.
Best chief engineerIs this who was the best chief engineer, or who was the best character among the chief engineer characters? 'Cause my answer is different depending on that. Scotty for the first, O'Broen for the second.
Not really o’brien foxed an entire ship class and he was just a enlisted man. No starfleet AcademyThis is a silly question! Scotty, it's obvious! The rest of them are just actors!

100% correct. A computer graphic does identify Stamets as chief engineer, someone behind the scenes tweeted that was a mistake, and he does wear sciences insignia.I know some graphic has Stamets as Chief Engineer, but I thought someone behind the scenes said that was a mistake? His badge has the science division logo on it.
Actually, according to Trials and Tribble-Ations, O'Brien did attend the Academy. Not really o’brien foxed an entire ship class and he was just a enlisted man. No starfleet Academy
yes but heI have to say O'Brien. He not only took care of any issues on the station, but the Defiant and any alien vessels docked at the station. To be able to work continually not knowing what tech was going to be repaired on next, followed by his staunch loyalty and being a great family man, he is my pick.
Yes but in past tense he clearly said was not an officer. So he probably attended enlisted courses which are shorter probably. So that’s why I like him so much he was able to do a lot with less starfleet Academy training then the other chief engineers.Scotty

Still, they have not yet established who the chief engineer is, or even that there is anyone above Stamets in engineering. Although he does wear the science insignia, everyone who works for has engineering insignia, including Tilly. Also, despite the fact that spore drive trials have been suspended, Stamets is still on board the ship, and he's been promoted to Lt. Commander. So either he is chief engineer or he's movie era Worf.

I totally agree with all of Them. Although I’m pretty sure archer picked him because he was a great engineer. And remember Starfleet has to aprove all important positions. And with Stamets he’s in the science vision so I don’t think he is the real chief engineer. Although I am biased because I don’t like the fact that he’s not as willing as the others to protect his home just because he doesn’t like military work.I chose Scotty.
As for the others...
Torres: a hot-head, but quite competent.
La Forge: technical expert, without a doubt.
O'Brien: also quite competent.
Stamets: I'm not sure he counts as an engineer.
Tucker: the self-taught boat mechanic who got a job as starship chief engineer because he was Archer's buddy.

He was a great engineer. Considering he was able to keep enterprise in one pieceOr more accurately because HE THOUGHT that he was a great engineer.

Everybody says stupid stuff. That doesn’t make them any less smart. And if any of that stupid stuff is after the season two finale, well he lost his sister. And the fact that he was able to keep the enterprise together after all the damage in Azati prime says a lot.The problem is that he said some really stupid things along the way which make me question that. Engineers are supposed to be smart.
