Who was the best chief engineer

Who’s the best

Stamets is not the chief engineer, he's a science officer.

I voted for Torres, she may have broken a few noses but she was a pretty good engineer and I liked her character a lot.
Well technically he is the chief engineer. That’s according to memory alpha and probably canon. I don’t really like either he should be an engineering officer but that’s about it. And you are right Torres was good engineer. Hey what’s a adventure without a little blood

That's quite a promotion when you stop to think about it, from wanted criminal to chief engineer in a couple of days, right after having broken the nose of the former chief engineer! Who's now under her orders.

I know it’s almost not believable. If she wasn’t such a great engineer she would probably be in the brig

P.S. from what I can tell Lorca made burnham a member of starfleet again jus with no rank.
Well, no. It's repeatedly stated throughout the season that once the Klingon War is over, Burnham goes back to prison. She doesn't become a member of Starfleet again until the finale when the President pardons her.

Just because she goes back to prison does not mean she’s not a temporary member of Starfleet and thus eligible to wear a uniform

I think it kinda does. Being a member of Starfleet is not a temporary position.
It is possible that being in Starfleet it’s like how old is the Navy you go in for a couple years learn a skill then you leave. It’s also possible that during the for your war Starley was so desperate they were willing to basically draft people or allow a few convict the prisoners in to Service with Starfleet to boost their numbers. Also I was just wondering are you a fan of discovery or you just a fan of disco and why.

I am a fan of Discovery, not really of Disco, I don't hate it, I guess I am OK with a little Disco once in a while.

As for why. I don't know I just am. Why are you asking?

It's hardly noticeable.
No just wondering. Although I am glad more people are giving discovery a chance. despite is continuity problems I personally like the show.
Although I hope in season two they finally transfer Staments over into the engineering department officially. Got to say at first I didn’t really like him because had a semi bad attitude but now he seems like a very good guy.

I like a show where the characters evolve. It's always more interesting. Not every writer has the guts to make their characters evolve though.

Best chief engineer? Scott since he could keep the engines running, fix whatever problem, invent transwarp beaming, use an 80's computer to draw up the formula for transparent aluminium and step into the captain's chair when required.

O'Brien gets seond place for MacGyvering DS9 together.
LaForge third, the man could keep up with Scotty and do a killer under door roll.
Trip fourth, if anything he was better in command than his captain.
Torres fifth, has a few Maquis tricks up her sleeve.
Stamets sixth, 'shrooms.
