Guilty as charged, Nerys, guilty as charged. Although he sits at the top of the bed, so I don't actually cuddle up with him. ;)

My fluffy rattlesnake, imaginatively named Rattle, still coils around the headstand of the bed, and likely will until the stars go cold. He was a christmas present when I was about six. He has a bendy, adjustable body and a genuine rattle, and is very cute for a venomous snake. :p I had lots of soft toys as a child - when I got rid of them I spared Rattle because he had been so important to me. So he's stayed through to adulthood.

I didn't even sleep with a stuffed animal when I was a little kid. My parents tried to convince me, but I just looked at them and asked why I should sleep with it. Yeah, I was a riot as a kid.

I never slept with a stuffed animal, either. My comfort was sucking the index and middle fingers on my left hand which, oddly enough, are the same fingers my daughter sucked on from when she was 8 weeks old (yeah, an 8-week-old who could soothe herself--jackpot! :D). I never played with my stuffies, which may be why I didn't use one as a comforter.

I occasionally sleep with a doll. I still have the teddy bear that I got for my first Christmas, but he's been too delicate to sleep with for years. Sunday will be his 61st birthday!

I have a stuffed cheeta named Speedy which sits on the floor next to the bed, but he rarely makes it up to the bed.

They're now all sitting on top of the bed. Alo, one of them isn't an animal but a tomato. A friend of mine made a stuffed, plushy Kykladian Idol (little stone statues that were in use on the Cyclades during the Neolithic) for me for my birthday once.

Does the orthipetic pillow I put between my knees (where my cerebral palsy is at it's worst) count?

That aside. I DO still have the stuffed dog I slept with as a kid, but he's in a sealed ziplock sandwhich bag inside a shoe box in my closet.

His stitching is also falling apart, but I can't bring myself to toss him.

Nope because am 24 :p

But Timmy The Tiger sits proudly on my chest of draws, I won it years ago in one of those claw arcade machines during a fair and thought hell I paid for it/won it so going to keep it

I'll say yes, although I have to qualify the statement. I have both my original rag doll (named 'Raggy') and my original teddy bear (named...wait for it.....'Bear") sitting on the night stand next to my bed. On the bed, I have lots of pillows (7, actually), but I have two favorites: one that I like to lay my head on and one that I like to cuddle with (this one is one of those really long ones). I have one of those super soft, fuzzy microplush covers for the long one to make it extra cuddly, and so I really love this pillow. In fact, I think I might be the only person I know who has actually named their pillow, like other people name stuffed animals.

I've never slept with a stuffed animal, but I'd be willing to start. I just need something cool and snuggly.

No stuffed animals here, mate. But for the record, i have a sword hanging on the wall over me bed and i have a Model P within arms reach of the bed. I have to open the safe to load it though. I'm bonkers, but i'm not that bonkers.

It takes a very "special" kind of person to come into a thread about teddy bears and use it to show off about his fucking gun. Well done!

The last time I really slept with a stuffed animal for any length of time was shortly after 9/11. Mostly, though, I have a furry friend to sleep with... my cat.

I know you said no pets. But I'm often the middle man in a Labrador sandwich. The insulation in my bedroom sucks and it's real nice to have the extra warmth.

My fiance is usually so bundled up I feel like I am sleeping with a stuffed animal- one that kicks me in her sleep.
