Yup. With his Superman and Bale's Batman, DC would be a lot closer to where they currently want to be. in terms of world building. Maybe they would have put more work into GL, or, after it failed, they could have juts done the fall of the Corp and introduced Kyle Raynor.

They could have gone? Gone where? DC Comics is doing fine, as far as I'm concerned. I'm getting tired of people discussing the current movieverse as if it has already failed. As if this is a fact. If it had failed, Warner Bros. would not be planning movies up to 2020.

Also, DC Comics is in the beginning stages of building its movieverse and yet, some people are acting as if it should be at the same stage that Marvel is right now. Marvel has a 5 to 8 year head start. To demand or expect DC Comics to quickly reach the same stage is ridiculous.

As for who looks like Chris Reeve, no one does. Nor should any of them look like him. Chris Reeves was Chris Reeve. Just as Dean Cain is Dean Cain, Tom Welling is Tom Welling, Brandon Routh is Brandon Routh, Henry Cavill is Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin is Tyler Hoechlin. I enjoyed Chris Reeve as Clark Kent/Superman. I enjoyed George Reeves as well. In fact, I have yet to be disappointed by any actor I have seen portray Superman/Clark Kent.

Ignoring the numerous failings that have turned quite a number people off to the DCEU already, the point I was making is that they wouldn't need to be playing catch-up right now, because they would have had their movieverse underway 10 years ago.

Are you so blinded by your own personal opinion of DCEU that you have failed to realize that so many people are also fans of the movieverse? It seems as if you don't want to acknowledge this. I acknowledge the fact that many people dislike it, despite my own personal opinion. I also acknowledge the fact that many people. Can you acknowledge the latter, despite your own personal feelings?

In my opinion (and please take it as such) :

Brandon Routh's Superman < Henry Cavill's Superman
Christian Bale's Batman = Ben Affleck's Batman

So the current DCEU has better casting than the hypothetical 2005/2006 one. All it needs is better scripts and directors.

And people forget that the "The Incredible Hulk" was the MCU's second movie. Hardly a good or successful film IMHO.

What do my own feelings (or your opinions of them) have to do with the fact that DC is very clearly attempting to catch up with Marvel and have rushed some of their biggest storylines in an attempt to sprint to the "Justice League" goal posts, when they were halfway there a decade ago?

And we will have to agree to disagree on Cavill vs Routh. I quite enjoyed his Superman (and was enjoying the soft reboot of the classic movies and theme.)

Many people are fans...but not nearly as many as their should be.
