Who is your favourite captain?

Janeway is gorgeous. Especially during Season 6. Well, Chakotay doesn't make my eyes bleed either.

As for the vote. I went with Kirk! Picard is second and Sisko third. Sisko used to be second but his whole wackiness with his emissary role makes me think he is less reliable than Picard.

As for the whole Janeway thing...it's a travesty as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed 100%. I never found a way to connect with the Archer character. Something was missing (from my perspective and my perspective only).

He did have a very cute dog though.

1. Picard: Picard's #1 for me because he is like the quintessential Starfleet captain, the right blend of scientist, explorer, and leader of men.

2. Kirk: Kirk's an icon, and definitely the most adventurous captain.

3. Sisko: Though Sisko is third on the list, he has a high ranking in my estimation. Perhaps he has the most inner and outer toughness of all the captains. Plus, he's the only one to be a major part in winning the Federation's most destructive war.

4. Janeway: Not a major fan of Janeway, but she did beat the Borg and she brought her ship home.

5. Archer: Really hated Archer until S3 of ENT. I preferred the darker characterization of him, but we didn't get to see enough of him, from a character development standpoint, for me to place him higher on the list.

Wow this is close, and I guess that's as it should be because they all have good and bad points. I guess my favourite is Picard though, and the reason is that I he is such a strong person and he doesn't have to resort to being macho or anything. Also Patrick Stewart is probably the best actor ever to appear in star trek (close behind is Mcdowell)
