Who is your favourite captain?

If it's a question of who I'd want to serve under in Starfleet, for example, it would have to be Kirk. If it's a question of who I'd want serving under me in Starfleet, it would definitely be Picard. If it's a question of who I'd want to go fishing and drink beer with, Archer has a pronounced advantage. If it's a question of who I'd go to if I had a moral conundrum I needed advice on, Picard and Sisko pull ahead. If it's a question of who I thought would be an engaging dinner companion and possible sex partner, Janeway is sharply in the lead. It's an expansive scenario.

Sisko is kind of hot. I could see him as my possible sex partner from all the men captains. Archer - maybe. Picard and Kirk do nothing for me in that way. And poor Harrison - I don't remember you dude.

But Janeway would be my captain to whom I would follow to no matter what end.

The assumption that this board has been in some way representative of Star Trek fans is obviously in need of reconsideration.

Janeway has never failed to win the "most popular character" polls in the Voyager forum, often by a wide margin. So where have these fans been? The unfriendly and sometimes hostile attitude toward Voyager fans has made them leave TrekBBS, but it doesn't mean they don't exist.

The discussions here in recent weeks have inticed some fans to return (or join for the first time), and I humbly suggest that what you've seen is just a sampling of the many Voyager fans that are out there, a group that should not be dismissed as a "small band of militant Janeway fans."

I voted Janeway, and no, my screen name has nothing to do with it. (I use this screen name on some non-Trek boards, too -- it happens to be related to my actual real-life name.) Actually, for me Picard and Janeway are just about tied, and Sisko comes in a very, very, very close third. I love 'em all, really.

Kirk is an interesting guy, but just WAY too much of an intergalactic tom cat, and Archer...Archer is just too vanilla. Sorry, ENT fans.
