Who is the worst character in all of Star Trek main cast?

Who is the worst (mainstage) character in Trek?

I always remember the alt lists from the early nineties which had about 100 variations of "die Wesley Crusher die die die".

Kes, never liked the character and especially hated the bad return for vengeance episode.

I voted Tuvok, I've got nothing really against him, but I dislike characters with Vulcan mindsets, (doesn't include all Vulcans), just characters with none or little emotions. Worf would be another example, the only reason I didn't vote him was that he had more writing done for him and sometimes showed emotions, even if they were Klingon. Add to that that the majority of episodes involving Tuvok were investigations, which I find rather boring (Ex Post Facto, Random Thought, Retrospect). The only thing good about his character was his occasional 'out of character' quips.

Your mileage may vary. As far as I am concerned, it works out for Spock, Kira, Dukat, Sarek, Ro Laren, K'Ehleyr, Picard, Data (I'd rather describe it as lovable cuteness, but many girls find him hot), Damar, and I would argue, maybe even Jadzia Dax, among others. But then anyone can disagree with both who they consider a good character, and who they find sexy. Quite a few people find Seven an interesting character.

There's a difference between an attractive character and a character designed to boost ratings with their chest. For example, Saavik was an attractive character, but she wasn't really sexy, per se.
Point taken, but sexy, in fact, does mean "sexually attractive", not "designed to boost ratings with their chest". The latter is a designated sex symbol, or as TV Tropes call it, MsFanservice.

Possibly the worst character was one that was flawlessly played by the actor, who was universally loved. What made him such a bad character was comments that grew more and more tiresome about one detail regarding that character that came up in nearly every episode of that series. And probably the worst epidsode of that series centered on this otherwise charming character, who is not on the poll list yet appeared in perhaps every episode of that series.

Who would that be?

I had to vote for Wesley Crusher. I am not a "Wesley hater" and actually think he had some good moments and could have been a very good character. However, he was badly written and the writers didn't seem to know how to utilize him. He never lived up to his potential, and some of the lines assigned to him were just plain awful.

Morn? :(

That's a lot of hate for Crusher.

I went with Troi. I don't hate the character by any means, but she's the most likely to get on my nerves in regards to any Star Trek series.

Harry Kim. What exactly was the point of this character, again? Seven years of nothing? How exciting. Poor Mayweather got the same treatment but at least he only suffered in the background for four years. Plus, I actually liked Mayweather a little more somehow.

Morn? What's not to like? I was thinking of Porthos, and all the inane lines about cheese.

I like Morn too, but you seemed to be pointing to him.

No ENT? Archer and T'Pol would be my top two, not sure who would "win."

So I voted for Neelix. But like most of the bad characters, he was also unimportant. I'd rather vote for a character who really helped screw up a show.

Holy crap I left out an entire show.

Sorry, folks. I screwed this one up.
You should also check your spelling on a few names you did get. But either way, Wesley wins all the way. That sounded weird: how can this looser win anything? Meh...

OK, until (if?) there is a new improved version of the thread, I'll vote in this one. I haven't seen ENT other than "Broken Bow" anyway (and pretty much EVERY character annoyed me in it...but they may get better later). I picked Chekov, Rand, Chapel, Wesley Crusher, Yar, Kim and Neelix. Deanna Troi got a very near and lucky escape, for having an interesting episode or two ("Face of the Enemy").

Neelix. Just a nothing character. Of all the "alien" characters on Trek, he mostly seemed like a human in a mask. Not the actor's fault, just bad writing. What is a Talaxian? Can anyone answer that, along the lines of What is a Vulcan or What is a Klingon? They would have been better off just having Ethan play another of the Marquis crew.

Come on, would anyone really buy that guy as a Maquis fighter?
