This will take a minute to get this poll up. I by "worst" I mean most poorly written, least interesting, worst character developing, worst acting etc. etc. Just all around "worst."

You missed one I would have voted for: Ensign Ro.

I missed the initial post, so I voted "all good". Because they are all very good characters.

But considering writing, it's a no-brainer: the absolute worst writing was for Wesley Crusher.

Kes, mostly. Thing is, I think Jennifer Lien wasn't bad, but she wasn't really given much to work with usually. Before and After was one of the few good ones she had.

Ack I knew I was going to miss one (I was going by memory). I don't know how anybody could choose Ro, though :).

Anyway I voted for Chakotay for the stale acting and poor character development... and "The Fight." At least with Wesley Crusher the acting was pretty much there and there was lot of character development (as annoying a little bastard as he was in the first episodes).

No ENT? Archer and T'Pol would be my top two, not sure who would "win."

So I voted for Neelix. But like most of the bad characters, he was also unimportant. I'd rather vote for a character who really helped screw up a show.

Holy crap I left out an entire show.

Sorry, folks. I screwed this one up.

As per your definition of worst, I'll have to go with Mayweather. As a "character" he was practically non-existant.

Agreed. That's who I voted for. Runners-up are, IMO, Rand, Neelix, Kim, and Mayweather. :p -- RR

Well, there were a few characters I thought were kind of boring, but the only one that actually bothered me was Wesley Crusher (that's right -- I don't mind Neelix. Go ahead, do your worst :p).

Oh yeah, and leaving aside the obvious error of the Enterprise-omission, why are Garak, Rom, Nog, Dukat, and Weyoun on the list? They were recurring characters, not regulars. I could understand if you wanted to include recurring characters, but why limit it to these ones? Why not include Guinan, Ro, Winn, Damar, Martok, Seska, etc.? Not trying to criticize, I just don't really get it.

Haha, no like I said I screwed up the poll because I was going by memory... I should have used memory-alpha or something.

Just ask the mod to close this one, do another one, include Enterprise, and try to spell the names right. ;)

I voted Seven. Star Trek + sex appeal very rarely works out into a good, enjoyable character.
Your mileage may vary. As far as I am concerned, it works out for Spock, Kira, Dukat, Sarek, Ro Laren, K'Ehleyr, Picard, Data (I'd rather describe it as lovable cuteness, but many girls find him hot), Damar, and I would argue, maybe even Jadzia Dax, among others. But then anyone can disagree with both who they consider a good character, and who they find sexy. Quite a few people find Seven an interesting character.

Harry Kim. He lacked personality, yet was always around and seen as very important. While I agree Neelix was annoying, I think he did have his moments and was sometimes redeemed by Ethan Phillips's acting. As for Wesley, well he was rubbish too, but he was a bit better once he became a recurring character.

I never liked that precocious little shit, Wesley Crusher. He sullys my middle name...

There's a difference between an attractive character and a character designed to boost ratings with their chest. For example, Saavik was an attractive character, but she wasn't really sexy, per se.
