Dunno what we really gain from understanding the precise hierarchy and roles. In fact I like the fact that STD uses characters rather than roles on a starship. Gives you a feeling that the people are there for a reason, rather than just filling slots in a roster. To go further off topic, this show could use some episodes that really establish the characters within their hierarchy, so far the hierarchy doesn't really seem to matter much beyond captain, then everyone else. Considering a show about a ship full of crew organized by hierarchy this is odd to me.

Normally there's a rational character in the mix.. a Spock or Seven or Tuvok, a Data. Someone 'go to' for an an unemotional response.
Is there one?
Saru is still the most level headed character.
I mean I thought Landry was pretty relaxed.....
Ensign Tilly.
She's not unemotional but very level-headed.
That robot girl. She's a robot and probably doesn't have anger issues.
Probably.
Saru is still the most level headed character.
