Who is the most level headed one on Discovery?

Refuge

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Normally there's a rational character in the mix.. a Spock or Seven or Tuvok, a Data. Someone 'go to' for an an unemotional response.

Is there one?

I think Tilly will be the shining character of Discovery. She started out super annoying in episode three, and I hated every second she was on screen. Now she is a solid personality. And, we know that she WILL be a captain.

yeah the doctor, easy. id say a close second being saru. one incident compromised on a unique planet isnt enough for me to consider him not level headed.

The doctor hasn't had enough screen time yet. Saru has reacted irrational towards Burnham in previous episodes. It is clear his strong instincts disqualify him as being level-headed.

Off-topic. How do we know Culber isn't the Chief Medical Officer? He is wearing a Lieutenant Commander's pips, which would make him the same rank as McCoy in The Original Series.

To go further off topic, this show could use some episodes that really establish the characters within their hierarchy, so far the hierarchy doesn't really seem to matter much beyond captain, then everyone else. Considering a show about a ship full of crew organized by hierarchy this is odd to me.

They all trading hilarious anecdotes with Morn, if Morn will ever shut up that is.

Maybe in the future they've replaced redneck white people jokes with Andorians. Ya know like, unable to dance, no rhythm, marrying your sister, shuttles on cinder blocks in the yard....
