Who has not seen Star Trek and Why?

I have not yet seen it and was wondering who else had not and their reasons for not going. I myself don't drive and the nearest show is 10 miles away and will hopefully see it in a week or two.

I didnt want to see yesterdays midnight showing or todays showing simply because I don't know whose gonna dress up in klingon/star trek gear and I'd rather not be associated with that. Plus, NBA playoff games on tonight. I will see it tomorrow or Sunday.

I was rather anxious about getting to the IMAX and seeing a crowd of uniforms (for some reason one of our newspapers was appealing for people to come dressed in all the gear, including Klingons etc), but thankfully it was a more normal gathering.

Made arrangements to see it with friends over the weekend, and am afraid if I go early and then also see it as scheduled with them, they'll ask me (knowing my love of Trek) if I've seen it yet, and when I tell the truth they'll get mad.

I've been struggling with this since yesterday. Help me.... :(

I promised my dad I wouldn't go see it until I returned home from college, so we could go see it together. He promised me he wouldn't go see it till then either, despite the fact that he can hardly wait much longer. This will be the most epic of all father/daughter outings ever! :D

I wonder if we'll go see it at the IMAX?

You missed out!

For pete's sake, it JUST opened. Not EVERYONE is rushing out to see it opening day...

I'm seeing it tomorrow with some fellow TBBSers. Couldn't take the day off like I did when Nemesis came out... man, was that ever a waste of a vacation day. :(

That's not the point. This is a fan site were we have been talking about since before production started. I have a friend who went last night. His son was born that morning but he still went to see star trek.

Hear, hear!

I think this is a particularly American phenomenon that when a movie opens everybody MUST rush to the FIRST NIGHT showing and see it all at once. It's that instant gratification thing that I saw in a lot of Americans when I was there in '01 and '02. A friend had the lastest X Box system that had come out a few months before and was SLOBBERING over the next playstation that was coming out and would supersede that last he had bought only eighteen months before.

It's like they are falling over themselves to NOT be that last person to see something or get something new.

I live in a rural area were most movies stay only two weeks or so. If you wait you do not see it a lot of the time.

The people I was refrring to live in LA, SF, Colorado Springs, Cleveland and Orlando. With the exception of CO Springs, these are NOT country towns.

That made me smile ;). enjoy!

I haven't had the chance because of my work schedule.

That all changes at 10:55 PM tonight :)

Haven't seen it yet. Going to see it tonight in IMAX.

Why?

That whole life and work thing got in the way.

Funny how not seeing it until the first full opening day is something that begs an explanation.

Someone should cancel my Trekkie card. ;)

Opens tonight in my area. With three young kids and a dog, I don't have much free time. Can't remember the last movie I got to go see.
