Who had the worst romance subplot

Who had the worst romance subplot?

When I saw the question but not the poll options yet, my first thought was "Worf and Deanna", but after seeing the options, I realised that Seven and Chakotay were a lot worse (not that Trip and T'Pol weren't bad).

Not only they were hooked up in the last moment, but also the script tried to force us to believe that Chak was completely destroyed after Seven's death.
Sorry, don't see it. Fake! Fake!

So I voted for those two: Chakotay and Seven.

I really think there was an incredible lack of sex appeal of almost all the characters and the actors playing them, with the possible exception (of course) of Jeri Ryan. I don't think any of these pairings had any real reason for being other than pure plot filler and/or perhaps efforts to pander at whatever segment of the audience actually wanted "romance" in these things.

I found Kes kinda sexy, due to the pixie look and that VOICE! Though Seven was meant to appeal to young men due to her body, I don't find her sexy at all due to the character (albeit a very good character throughout the series). YMMV

Count me in on the not-finding-Seven-attractive. She is a very interesting character but her personality is off-putting and cold.

I think Jeri Ryan is beautiful in a classic sort of way. I haven't gotten to the later parts of VOY yet, so I can't really comment on it.

My vote goes for Worf and Jadzia. I wasn't ever bothered by him and Troi. I thought it was kind of cute how they were so yin and yang in Parallels. Plus that Worf looking around the corner was classic! Jadzia was never that interesting to me as a character, and it just seemed like they didn't go very well together.

Sad for Worf too ;_;

Marika, maybe your username should have been Mrs. Chakotay:lol:

Although come to think of it, I find it kind of odd that he doesn't have a last name.

:guffaw::guffaw:

Indeed .. well maybe he took his tribe's name? But no one knows lol, even the Admiralty calls him Captain Chakotay

I say Seven/Chakotay because it comes from nowhere and I really cannot understand why, how and when it happened, especially considering all the flirting with Janeway.

I also don't like Deanna/Worf for the same reasons, after 7 seasons in which Riker and Deanna flirt...what happened?Anybody knows how their relationship ended?
Probably that's why Worf got drunk at Deanna & Riker wedding.

Haha! Well, Keiko is obviously one of those women who suddenly turns into Medusa the instant they get married. Why do you think Chief was always hanging out with Bashir? Now if there was any inseparable couple in all of Trek, it was Miles and Julian!

Their relationship ended prior to Riker coming to the Enterprise--both had relationships with others here and there, but they remained close friends. As both ship's counselor and his former lover, Troi was uniquely suited to talk to Riker about both professional and private matters. "Ménage a Troi" was an episode where their relationship could have been rekindled early in the story, but they were interrupted by its events.

The events in "Insurrection" is likely what got them back together again, IMO. But by then, Worf was long out of the picture.

Sorry to keep referring to it, but it just keeps being releavent to the discussion. Imzadi II Triangle ends the Troi/Worf relationship and somewhat pushes Troi and Riker in the right direction to reconcile, but yeah, Insurrection is where they get back together.
The Seven and Chakotay relationship though ugh, that one really taints the finale for me a lot. I just don't know what anyone involved in making that happen was thinking.

Well, the book's not really relevant. You don't have to read it at all to come to the conclusion that Worf and Troi's relationship was just short-lived and was over by the time Worf came to DS9.
