Who else is p*ssed off? (Season 5 Finale Spoilers)

Does faux-Locke/Esau really have all of Locke's memories, or just piecing together what he knows. Somoneone (Rchard?) asks Locke "Didn't Ben kill you"? Response: "That's what I recall", or something vague like that....where he can fake his way through being Locke, as no one who he's hanging with now really knew him (not even Sun...she didn't interact with Locke much that we saw on the show, so she might not have noticed anything more than we the viewers did).

If Locke stays dead, it's definitely a tragedy...but may be interesting as we see the big picture...

I think fauxLocke knows all about Locke. Listen to how the deceiver lies to Ben at the beginning of the ep with accurate knowledge.

I thought it was a pretty good twist myself. I figured maybe the box contained another nuke...and, in a way, it did. :)

As to Locke's nobility...tell it to Boone.

The answer the subject line's question...i am more annoyed that Juliet decided to still try & set off the Nuke. Since we don't know exactly WHAT the incident was -- was it JUST the magnetic "sucking" of equipment, or the bomb itself...did Juliet stop the problem, or create it in the first place?

That'll grate on me for a few months...until 2010

As for Juliet, it was either set off the bomb or lie there in torture as the magneticicm pulled the iron from her blood and she died a horrible agonizing death.

And I'm not convinced Michael is dead.
Michael's dead. Christian told him "you can go now" just before the freighter exploded.
I admit I forgot about how Michael tried to kill himself but the Island prevented it until I read about it at LostPedia yesterday. So with that in mind and your reminder here, I can see Michael being dead now.

I actually love the twist of Locke really being dead, and hope that they don't try to resurrect him. It would cheapen the story so far to bring him back now, I think. Locke was a cool character, but we're already 85% of the way through the story, with only 17 hours to go, so I'm OK with them killing off characters that I like if it serves the story. I don't think it's necessary for them to keep every character alive until the end.
Having thought about this for awhile now, I think I'm content with Locke staying dead. As you said, killing off characters to serve the story is better than jerking us around. Locke being dead but Terry O'Quinn sticking around in another role reminds me of what happened on Oz.
Augustus Hill (Harold Perrineau) was killed at the end of season 5, but Harold Perrineau stuck around in season 6 to continue narrating (or setting up the narration) for each episode.
I also think it's interesting that we saw Locke's coffin as early as the Season 3 finale, and only now know for sure that yes, he's really dead.

Season 3 finale: Someone Jack knows is dead
Season 4 finale: That someone who's dead is Locke
Season 5 finale: No, really. Locke is dead.
Yeah, that's pretty cool.

Ok, first of all I thought the finale was excellent and the cliffhanger is definitely my favourite of the series. But saying that I’m completely p*ssed off with what they revealed about John Locke, that he is still dead and we’ve been following a fake half the season. It doesn’t help that they took steps to make ‘Not Locke’ appear to be exactly like Locke, he seemed to know everything Locke knew and acted just like Locke would.
True, but there have also been obvious clues to this all season long, not the least of which was Ben and Richard insisting that dead is dead, that a dead person has never been revived, not even on the island. It's not the writers's fault you didn't listen to Ben. :)

Faux-Locke reminisced with Ben about the Hatch where they first met. He seems to have all of Locke's memories.

No one questioned whether or not Christian was dead, despite the fact that he had all the memories of Christian.

We all knew he was dead and that some other ... spirit was inhabiting that body - with full access to Christian's memories.

Why is it difficult to accept it with Locke?

Locke'll be back, mark my words. Jacob revived him for a reason and I've a feeling that Locke will rise again.

Well unlike Charlie, I don't think he acted like Locke at all. The original Locke was kind of that pathetic loser that you felt sorry for. NotLocke was what I called uberLocke, kicking ass and taking names. I really enjoyed seeing that transformation as he made Ben so uncomfortable. It was nice seeing him get a little payback against Ben.

This is what I would disagree with. I thought the transformation was a bad thing, he turned into a cold heartless meanie.

I feel like I watched a totally different show than you. Until the finale, I don't remember seeing anything in Locke as you would portray him. I saw what I thought was a confident man that knew exactly what was going on and what he was doing. Cold and heartless? I just didn't see it, at least not until he started the quest to kill Jacob.

Speaking of impostors, does anyone remember the Lost tie-in novel that was released around Season 2? Bad Twin (link)

I'd always suspected that the title of this strangely named book would eventually have some relevance to what was happening on the show. Now, finally, it seems to be cromulent. :vulcan:
