How old is this kid supposed to be?

She's 3/4 human and 1/4 Betazoid. So I suppose the chances of her being empathic might be relatively lower than if she were half Betazoid. That is, unless the writers want her to be empathic, then the odds get much better.

The actress is 14, so I'm guessing the character is something like that. She did seem 13 to 14-ish, but seeing how she lives a bit of a sheltered life in the woods (or it appears she does) the character could appear younger than she is/be less street-wise.

Kestra is probably empathetic on some level. She may not even be consciously aware of it. It could be more intuitive.

The actress was very could. Child actors who can act aren’t common but they do exist.

And Lwaxana is likely very proud of her granddaughter. No other girl has a grandma like Kestra Troi-Riker (the Litverse went with Riker-Troi, which sounds better IMO).

We'll sadly never get to see these two characters together onscreen but Lwaxana and Kestra woud be a fun to watch.

True. Because I can't think of a more outrageous recast than the Maddox replacement. A recast of Lwaxana Troi! Majel would turn in her grave.
