Voyager had a female captain, First Nations first officer, black Vulcan Chief Security officer & female Chief half klingon half latina!!!

My only criticism is the "First Nations" first officer was based off of misinformation and wasn't really a good representation of any tribe. It was close, but it could have been a whole lot better.

The rest of the cast is great, with Tuvok and B'Elenna being among my favorites.

The original draft of the finale script had a subplot where they accidentally left Harry on some planet and didn't bother to go back. They ended up cutting it because they felt they were focusing too much on him.

The common criticism I see about Trek's handling of diversity and equality is it tends to totally lack subtlety, using the story as a mallet to whack the viewer over the head with an obvious point.

I used to agree with that criticism, since it was so bleeding obvious.

Now though? I think they really need to upgrade to a wrecking ball equivalent of storytelling.
