Which was the best Trek Series Finale?

Which Trek show had the Best Series Finale?

"All Good Things..." gets my vote. My opinion was that it was one of the best episodes of TNG.

As for TOS not having a true finally, I thought that Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens book Prime Directive was a good finally for the show as it led into the events of TMP.

What You Leave Behind, followed very closely by All Good Things. I chose WYLB mainly because it was an actual ending to the series, where as AGT, while the final episode wasn't really the end of TNG since they had four movies after.

Endgame I was pretty harsh on when it first aired, though I've since been a bit lenient on it. Not really a proper way to end the series, but it was at least an entertaining episode, which is a lot more than I can say about These Are The Voyages. And the less said about TATV, the better.

Yeah, it's interesting to see TATV hasn't got a single vote yet! Surely there must be someone who loved it? Where are you, ENTers?

:vulcan: The vast majority of ENT fans hate that episode.

And with good reason.

For me

1.) What You Leave Behind
2.) Endgame
3.) All Good Things
4.) These Are The Voyages of a show that was getting good and then got yanked back down into garbage land thanks to a writing duo that couldn't resist screwing up Star Trek one last time on their way out the door.

Yeah I was a little pissed about how it ended too.;)

Definitely had to pick All Good Things. After all this time, it's still the best of the lot, as it was a great idea to bookend the series with Q. What You Leave Behind is great, too. -- RR

What You Leave Behind, with All Good Things a close second, Endgame I can take or leave. These Are The Voyages is unwatchable trash tho.

DS9: That montage at the end and Jake wistfully watching the wormhole with Kira... and the camera pulls back from the station ... magnificient!

Yep...you nailed it...and if you think about it? TNG was not a finale since they came back, pretty much unchanged, in GENERATIONS...

DS9 was the best finale of all time for TREK. The Montage was the icing on the cake!!

TNG's ending was piecemeal. It didn't deal properly with individual character's arcs properly.

DS9 etc., was by far the best.

Endgame--flawed, but exciting. This one gets my vote.

All Good Things--meh. Bringing back Crosby and trying to make her look like she did 7 years earlier? Just brought back all the ambivalence I ever felt about how they totally wrecked Yesterday's Enterprise. Such a powerful ending for Yar, and they crapped all over it. You quit Denise, you should have stayed the hell out of dodge. Didn't like Picard joining in on the poker game, either. Having an emotion chip for Data ruins the character. It's really too bad this series didn't end after 5 seasons.

What You Leave Behind--never watched DS9 or this episode, so I can't say.

TATV--worst episode in all of modern Trek, 'nuff said.

The fact is--none of the finales would come anywhere near the top 10 for each series--how sad is that?

I thought it was a decent episode when I first saw it and I still do, but it's easily the worst finale. The only thing I could point out to push it ahead of Endgame is that Endgame had an extra hour to really do something and didn't. TATV didn't try to do anything big. Still, as much of a muddled mess Endgame is, it still is more entertaining, so it gets pushed ahead.

TATV is better than Turnabout Intruder, though

I went with TATV, although WYLB is right on its heels. Those are the series finales of my two favorite "modern era" shows, which makes them a slam dunk.

I remember "Endgame" as craptastic although I enjoyed VOY more than most on the BBS. I will be watching it again soon with the Mrs. ("Endgame") so I will let you know if I still feel the same way about it.

TATV IMHO was a flawed holodeck program, showing the "official" history of the original ENT's last mission prior to the formation of TUFOP. Meh as an ep, a disaster as a series finale. I didn't hate ENT either - I liked it, but didn't love it. Same with VOY. I loved TNG, DS9, TOS films and many, many TOS eps. Other TOS eps are highly entertaining for their camp value.

All Good Things...

A near perfect end for TNG. I love that they brought everything full circle and gave Q's testing of humanity in the pilot a measure of closure.

WYLB came close, but dropped into second because of all that E-E-E-VIL Dukat / Pah-Wraith crap.

Endgame was plain goofy.

TATV was, well... TATV.

What You Leave Behind, and All Good Things were both fantastic. Seeing the TNG crew in various stages of history working very astutely on the same goal was very interesting.

WYLB was a very sentimental ending that still moves me. The montage is memorable in it's own right.

End Game, was fantastic as well. It was clever and visually stimulating. While I didn't choose it over the others, I thought it was a very worthy end to a Star Trek series, and put the kabosh to the Borg!

TATV, well it's only sad that it was the end of the series. Dammit! Otherwise it was a pretty decent episode for the TNG series. :(

No!

Yes :p

Should I list my reasons or should we continue to disagree using one word responses?

I liked the music in TATV, I liked Connor Trinneer's performance, I liked the ending montage, there were three scenes I liked a lot not counting the ending montage.

With Turnabout, there really isn't much I liked. Both are mediocre episodes, I'll give you that.

Yeah, one ending montage is enough to take away from a classic TOS episode.

Disagree all you want - that doesn't make it the truth. The worst series finale in television history is also a very, very bad episode. Horrible one, by the way.
