Which Voyager characters can swim and which cannot?

While writing my fanfiction, I began wondering if Kes can swim. And then, I thought if any of the Voyager characters can swim. Since I cannot come to any conclusions on my own, I would like to ask you this.

She was born underground on a desert planet. Probably never had the opportunity to learn.

Most of the characters probably had swimming covered in their Starfleet training. The Doctor likely doesn't, as Zimmerman wouldn't have seen a need to program swimming ability into him, given he was intended to spend his time in sickbay. Seven can probably swim as I imagine the Borg assimilated someone who can swim at some point. Neelix, probably not. Prior to being on Voyager a bathtub was the most water he'd been exposed to.

This would basically be my answer, though Neelix made a resort program with hydrosailing and he did security training, so he probably learned to swim fairly early. Maybe Naomi hasn't been taught yet though.

I think that the Paxau Resort, with its swimming opportunities, was available.

So, my guess? All of them can.

In "Threshold", Janeway's and Paris's offspring instinctively slithered into nearby water and swam away. Having just been born, it must have been an ability inherited from their parents. Hence Janeway and Paris must have been able to swim (at least in their salamander-like form).

The logic is inescapable.

Paris definitely can't. It's easy to picture him doggy-paddling in a shallow pool, yelling for help.

Given the sheer multiplicity of topics that have been posted, there's not much left to choose from if you want something new.

I was just thinking "I thought every topic had been discussed..." but clearly not.

The question is does Janeway put her hair under a swimming cap? And do Chakatoy's tattoos wash off? And is Brannon Braga kicking himself that he didn't put Seven of Nine in a swimsuit?

Neelix might be able to swim.

I think Neelix probably couldn't at first. But once the Paxau Resort was a thing, and he saw the crew engaging in water sports, he learned how. It's easy enough when you can get the holodeck to produce a suitable swimming teacher.

It is possible he programmed the holodeck to allow him to swim as swiftly as a mermaid; I will hold my breath (no pun intended) until I see him putting garish swimming trunks to use.
