You know who I think would make a good fit. Doctor Zelenki. Zelenki could tranlate well to a "Battlestar Galatica" style show because you could always play up the fact that he comes from a terrible childhood. I recall that he mentioned once that his family was poor, and they even lived in tents. Add that to the fact, that he can be a little odd and make people feel uncomfortable, according to Carter, in the ep were they got stuck in that hole in the ground. You could play him up as being as a kind of friendly, wierd guy who has some emtional issue's the come out in ways they never did on "Atlantis."

I like the idea of bringing over Zelenka. He's my 3rd favorite on Atlantis (after McKay & Beckett).

I'd also consider bringing over Jeanie Miller. If we're assuming that Universe will be a pervasively darker show, I can definately see how she'd get there. Either she'd be forcibly stranded from her family, which would make her pretty dour & bitchy (but still in an entertaining way) or they'd have to kill off the family before hand, which could drive her to Russell-O'Neil levels of suicidal tendencies.

Ultimately, Stargate has never been about writing. It's been about acting and actors who are able to elevate the material beyond the mediocre writing. That's why people like Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Joe Flannigan, David Hewlett, & Paul McGillion have been so successful in this format.

I forget his name but I really liked that military guy, O'Neil worked with in the ep were Daniel and Dr Lee are in the jungle and the pirates end up becoming zombies. The guy was in "Galaxy Quest" and all sorts of shows.

More Enrico Colantoni is always a good thing! I'm a fan of his going way back to the short-lived NBC sitcom Hope & Gloria, not to mention his consistent awesomeness on Veronica Mars. Right now, he's a regular on the CBS series Flashpoint but if he ever has extra availability, I hope the Stargate producers give him a call.

Why does Browder need to be "rescued" ? He wasn't exactly a shining beacon of wonderfulness on SG-1.
But he was amazing on Farscape. Unless his acting talent has suddenly abandoned him, the obvious culprit is the lousy, unimaginative writing on Stargate.

I sometimes got the sense that making Col. Mitchell more boring was a deliberate choice to try to distinguish him both from Jack O'Neill & John Sheppard and from Browder's Farscape character.

Interesting idea. I'd go for that, especially since the Stargate SG-1 producers seemed so in love with the actor.

I would love to see a Tok'ra team member. I thought they were planning on doing this for Atlantis, I was bummed when it didn't pan out.

The problem for me is, other than Jacob, I never really loved the Tok'ra. There more of a concept than a species I can relate to. I also worry that a To'kra would be to familiar to what we got from Dax on Ds9. You know I actually wish they hadn't killed that fat G'ould that loved to eat all the time. Other than Ba'al and Jacob he is the only Tokra/G'ould that I felt had a somewhat unique personality. I think he would have been a intresting character to use as a series regular. It would be neat twist for "stargate" to have a character you can't trust as a series regular. Someone who can almost qualify as a villian, but is working with the good guys, for some reason that would be explained in the show.

Why a Tok'Ra? Why not a Goa'uld, or any real bad guys? This is to be a stuck at to other end of the universe type of things but darker than Voyager so we could find lots of characters really out of place forced to play along.
