Which Star Trek movie had the best music?

Which Star Trek movie do you think had the best music? I'm a fan of the music in The Wrath of Khan.

TUC for me, easily. But I also like TWOK and the opening music from FC. Most of the other music is ok, I think.

The Motion Picture, though Horner's Wrath of Khan score comes in a very close second.

Wrath of Khan. The opening theme was incredible and I get chills when I hear the Genesis Wave and Mutara Nebula Battle pieces.

Overall it was extremely well done and by far my favourite. TMP would be next just slightly ahead of TUC. After that they just become a jumble with only one or two pieces that stand out.

TMP is not only the best Trek score, but one of the finest film scores ever. It's truly a crime that it did not win the Oscar.

TMP hands down!!! Goldsmith sells the opening Klingon scene almost by himself.

TFF had the best orchestration of Goldsmith's otherwise tired theme.

I think the score for TMP is a masterpiece, though I have to admit I'm a huge fan of all ten scores, especially those of TWOK, TUC, and FC.

TMP music is wonderful. I remember blasting that out of my big Altec-Lansings in the dorm room. The "Blaster Beam" sounded awesome with the bass cranked up. Made all the girls feel "funny". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaster_Beam

TWOK music is nice...a lot of it was re-used in Aliens.

Definitely The Motion Picture - very thematic! I'm not a big fan of The Voyage Home music a little too chimey and happy!

When I first heard it I thought it sounded like a Christmas carol.

I just hope when STXI comes out they'll keep the original theme song (maybe go a little easier on the bongos, though).

Actually I really like it - it is full of joy, as is Trek.

ST:TVH's music has always reminded me of the score from Ralph bakshi's animated Lord of the Rings film from 1978. I couldn't get teh image of Frodo in space out of my mind.

1-3, 6, and 8 all have wonderful music. My favorite opening title music is from FC, but I think TWOK/TSFS have the best overall scores.
