Which Main Character Death Made You the Most Sad?

Has to be Spock. I was just 5 or 6 years old when I saw Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, so it really did have an impact on me. Of course, my dad told me, "don't worry, they bring him back to life again" but still it had a kind of finallity about it that I couldn't wrap my mind around at that age.

Spock. His was the most well done. His final scene with Kirk gets me every time.
Spock - that's the only one I cared about.
Kirk died when he was supposed to die. You might quibble with how, but the when was okay.
Tasha and Jadzia - bah, who cares?

Spock was my oldest Trek "friend" when he died. It was like the death of a family member. "I will always be your friend" gets me leaking every time.

Though Spock's was indeed sad, he not only lived but he's coming back again; So his death was just a glorified version of what they did on a regular basis on the show. Jadzia's was similar in that she kinda came back too. And since I didn't much care for her, I didn't really miss the host. I guess Trip's death was sad, but since it was just crappy icing on an equally crappy cake (not so much the show, as the finale) I couldn't really care less. The same would go for Data; That movie was so bad, I had actually forgotten that they killed him off. Tasha was another one I couldn't have cared less about. The whole time she was dying, I was wondering what the hell that purple thing on her face was. Then we come to Kirk; He's the one who hands down gets my vote. As poorly conceived and or executed as his death may have been, it still represented the end of an era. Whatever the future may have held for Star Trek, I knew that was the end of James T Kirk.

Spock. Mostly, I think, because his death scene is so moving. I'm always puzzled when people speak of STIII undermining the meaning of this scene, since--even as a kid viewing the film for the first time--I never had a doubt that he would be back.

And I don't think it has anything to do with the way he died, which I've never been thrilled with, but because the death scene itself was written and performed poorly. The line "It was fun" seems appropriate, but Shatner's delivery kills it, especially with the "Oh my..." addition.

I actually felt the most sad when Trip and T'Pol's baby died. In fact I refused to watch the second part because I knew that scene would probably make me tear up. Trip's pointless death at the series finale makes this even more depressing. Why the producers would choose to end this series on such a gloomy, depressing, and dour note really is unfathomable to me.
OK, that was definitely very sad. I'm not a big Enterprise fan, and even I have to admit that was a pretty moving scene between the two of them near the end of that episode.
Spock. I still get misty whenever I see that scene between him and Kirk.
The second one was Jake Sisko. The only emotion I felt when they killed my favorite character, James T. Kirk, not once but twice was anger. That was someone's guilty pleasure, but not mine. I might have accepted the first death, but the jeep commercial at the end of the movie was unacceptable for a sci-fi icon.

Spock easily there. I remember watching the movie 10 years ago, and I knew that he was gonna die and it still got to me. They did that scene so well I can only imagine what it must of been like in the theater when it first came out. Truly superb directing.

Yeah, little Elizabeth dying was a heartbreaker. Actually, IMO, the final scene with Trip and T'Pol was both cathartic and hopeful (lovely nod to TOS).
I agree about Kirk. Having him die was OK (sort of) but the how was a huge

That was incredibly well done and moving. I recall when watching that story that if they'd been making episodes that well done all along that the show wouldn't have been canceled. And then they showed These Are the Voyages...
Data's daughter in "The Offspring". That always makes me tear up when she thanks him for her life.

Trip- I was sad and mad and went through all of the same reactions as other Enterprise fan. But like others said, in my cannon he isn't dead!
Spock- I already knew he was going to die and come back before I even really watched Trek. Yes, the scene is moving and sad, but not the most sad death for me.
Tasha- Her death does make me sad, but we really didn't get to know her before she died. Incidently, my favorite TNG episode is Yesterday's Enterprise. I wish (and I am sure Denise does to), that her character wouldn't have died, but would have transfered to another post.
Jadzia- This death is very sad for me as she was my favorite character on DS9. There is a post right now over at the DS9 forum about how dull Jadzia is, which is really suprising to me! I also wished she could have transfered to another post and not died. Of course, that does mean we wouldn't have Ezri Dax.
Kirk- I was surprised when I saw him die in Generations, but it didn't really make me sad. That is partially because I think Shatner is haughty and partly because I thought his lines during that scene were really dumb.
Data- Since I hate spoilers I had no idea that Data was going to die in Nemesis. His death made me mad to no end!! What I want to know is how did Data's death further the Trek franchise???

Spock. His funeral still gets to me every time I watch TWOK. Especially, when Scotty starts playing Amazing Grace on the bagpipes.
