Trip is not dead. He is alive and happy! TATV was a Holodeck error.

Amen to that. Enterprise was an awesome series and I just dont consider that last episode canon. It was a slap in the face to the fans and a final f*ck you from Berman.

Spock's death was emotional and well done.

Data's was more realistic within the realm of the Trek universe, but too bad it was a terrible movie.

Jadzia I never cared about.

Tasha was a character that I wish would have kept on for the rest of the series, but since her stay was short lived you could tell it was a quick write-in to get rid of Denise Crosby.

As for Kirk, you needed to kill off the legend eventually and since you can control ficitonal drama, I figured there would have been some huge way they would have done it. It turns out the greatest Trek legend, got the Trek equivalent of choking on a piece of steak and dropping dead.

As I recall it Denise Crosby asked to be written out of the series. She wanted to focus on her feature film career.

Data's death was so obtusely telegraphed by his doppleganger (and obvious replacement in the event of another TNG movie) being introduced earlier on that I knew without reading spoilers that he would die...and sure enough...nice way to cheapen his death and drain the event of whatever emotional power it might have had.

If you want to kill a character, you have to have the guts to go for it. Don't hedge your bets in some glaring, chickenshit way. Thank GOD Berman and that crowd are no longer in a position to frak up Star Trek anymore.

Trip didn't die. There has never been a death in human history as phenomenally LAME as that, therefore it didn't happen.
