I would like for them to revisit the wreck of the D, even though I feel like starfleet probably destroyed/removed all traces of it that were left so no one who shouldn't have seen it stumbled across it.

The sense I'm getting fro Chabon's instagram posts is that there may not be any starship porn this season. Especially not the Enterprise. I may be okay with that. Although, if it were to appear at the end of a spinoff season, I'd rather it have been here than DSC. Pike (now maybe my second or third favorite captain) could have arrived via transport or clipper ship or something. I hope they're able to end things with a spectacular character bang maybe if not a tech one. I really love this series.

And whatever changes they make next season, I hope they don't lose focus on acting and time to ponder as they adjust to include a few ships and/or jump-cuts here and there.

The Enterprise E most likely, but If not the Ent-E, then the smart money's got to be on the Enterprise-F.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: if they show the Enterprise-E, they would need to make a brand-new CGI model for it. So if they have to do that anyway, why not make a CGI model of a completely different ship so that they can market it with toys, model kits, etc.? The Enterprise-E is a 25 year old design. It was made for three movies 20 years ago. It’s time for something new.

Would love to see the F but its most likely to be the E if we see any Enterprise at all.

I think I could just about survive if we get an Odyssey class no matter the name or registry.

Why is that? Did they lose the CG E-E? Low polygon count?

I’m okay with it if they did. I think it was the beginning of the end for more realistic ships in Trek. Started to be sleek kewl lines after that more than more realistic space vessels.

Since both Eaglemoss and Trekyards seem to have rendered new images of the Nemesis CG model, it must be still usable. It's not an Autodesk Maya model though.

I doubt they’re going to use any ships from STO.
Its a stretch but my jaw hit the floor when I saw the USS Verity in the comic.

Was not expecting them to use the Odyssey class in anything never mind the prequel comic, canon or not.

It has to be said that if they want to introduce a new Enterprise (Odyssey class or not) next week is definitely the perfect opportunity to do so, Clancy screwed up and now has to make up for it or she is toast, if not the Enterprise F then maybe the USS Verity.

Alternatively it could be some new class or just classes we have seen before.

That is assuming Starfleet actually turns up before the cliffhanger, we may have to wait until S2.

We have over 200 Romulan ships all waiting to fire, something has to happen to give them something to do in the finale instead of just sit there, that could be the entrance of the Intergalactic Intelligence (who ends up being bad for everyone) or Starfleet, it will have to be one or the other as I doubt they will be able to talk down the Commodore.

The show runners could have just shown us a small fleet or task force, 200 ships speaks volumes to both the stakes involved and the potential for a big fight in the finale, if their opponent is Starfleet they will need to turn up with some serious tonnage and firepower to make it anything other than a turkey shoot.

If it is some kind of test by this Intelligence then the Romulans may shoot first and ask questions later which gets them wiped out, the Starfleet ships think first and are spared as they are not a threat to the synths on the planet below.

The last time we saw the E, it was 18 years ago in Nemesis. An 18 year old CGI model will not be compatible with today’s software.
Why can't they simply be converted? Wireframe meshes are still the same, textures are still the same... you can play 90s/00s 3D games on Steam... Half-Life and UT99 still run on Win7 at least... why have movie models changed beyond compatibility?

It's not that simple. EagleMoss ran in to a similar issue with some models and proprietary software:
Following an unsuccessful search and appeal to a number of past Star Trek production artists, it appears that the original CG models created for Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek Nemesis have been lost, necessitating Robinson's decision to commission all-new models for the Collection. [40] [41] Robinson has also commented that some existing models may be in file formats that require computer software that no longer exists, sometimes due to the use of proprietary 3D software in the past. In addition, subsequent upgrades to LightWave software has resulted in alterations to the current appearance of some production-used models, as some legacy features (including some shaders) are no longer supported.

Technically we already did if the Constitution-class hologram seen inside the lobby of Starfleet Headquarters was Pike's NCC-1701 as she appeared in DSC. ;)
