Which DS9 episode would you most like to see in HD?

The last one. "What You Leave Behind" is my favorite episode in the franchise. Besides, if I saw beautiful, glorious HD any sooner, I'd feel the effects of whiplash from jumping right back into SD. :P

Fun fact, that final shot of DS9 is the only time they ever used a CG model of DS9 in the series.

Maybe "One Small Ship" (I'm going off memory here - may not have the titles just right) or some of my faves like "Rocks and Shoals" with all the rocky scenery. Sometimes HD makes faces etc. look odd, if things aren't quite right, HD makes it more distracting.

I just don't know. I can't imagine myself enjoying the episodes more if they were remastered. That's certainly been my experience with the TNG remaster. Episodes I loved, I still loved. Episodes I didn't like, I still don't like.

Considering how much it'd cost to remaster the entire series (and this thread implies that amongst fans there's no consensus on which eps should be remastered first), I'd prefer they just have a crack at a season 8. It's clearly possible to get the cast back together (for the doco), and it'd be nice to see some of the fanfic rubbish that occurred in the 24th-century relaunch novels be stripped away.

I'm fully aware this won't happen, by the way. It's nice to dream though.

From what I've heard Avery Brooks didn't agree to being in the doc, and relaunch opinions aside (personally I'm a big fan), I think too much time has passed since DS9 was on-screen. If you ignore the novels, there's nearly twenty years of backstory between season 7 & 8 to catch up on.

This is all true.

But since Sisko was last seen off with the Prophets, perhaps he's still there? Given their relationship with time, he can just be seen via stock footage. That way they'd have to remaster a lot of Sisko scenes and everybody can be happy!

Can see why they don't let me make decisions about these things :D

I'm not a fan of stock footage, but I agree Sisko has the best reason to be absent.

How about a made-for-TV movie, like Return to Mayberry?

Probably the finale for this but I would echo the suggestions of Rocks and Shoals. It's a beautifully shot episode plus good action, would look amazing in HD.

Logically Sacrifice Of Angels would be the natural choice because of the space battles.

But any of my favorite episodes would be great anyway.

In the Pale Moonlight
Way of the Warrior
Call to Arms

Yeah... All good.

Lots of great ideas already posted (Rocks And Shoals!), I'd also add...

"Improbable Cause/The Die Is Cast" -- this was such a a big leap for them, that's when they really stepped up the space battles. Also lots of excellent alien makeup
"Far Beyond The Stars"
"Crossover"

Ironically, Meridian and Let He Who Is Without Sin have great location work in sunny California which would look excellent in HD.

Now that would be a twist cruel enough for The Twilight Zone. You finally get remastered DS9! It's "Meridian" and "Let He Who Is Without Sin"... maybe add "Move Along Home" and "Profit & Lace" to complete the set...

So, if you could only choose one episode to be remastered in HD, which would it be?
FIELD OF FIRE...such an underrated episode. Most people don't pay much attention to it...because PENUMBRA hits the airwaves a few episodes later, and thus begins the story arc that ultimately concludes DS9.

Can the scenes taken be the length of around 7920 minutes?

/ LOL :D /

But seriously - to show off Blu-Ray, go for the gold and not token scenes from just a popular episode unless it can really show how great the added definition is. Any scene with characters with silk clothing or intricate patterns will show off what Blu-Ray can do. Any number of scenes with Quark would show a huge difference between night and day the SD originals and HD remasters. The Wodi (from "Move Along Home") had outfits would also show real wonders in HD compared to the SD original. And, of course, no moire that videotape is infamous for producing.

As for "Tribbles", they would have to do a lot of film editing for any 23rd century scene to cut in the different film sources and that seems unlikely to happen. Never mind how banal 60s Trek sets unfortunately were - they work but the richness in DS9 needs to be shown off to increase interest enough to make blu-ray look like it's worth the investment. Even over time, broadcast sales would make up for the cost but, as for TNG, I'd be there on day 1 for each season to purchase.

"Business as Usual" would get my vote as the best Quark episode to showcase. Just to see Lawrence Tierney.

"I'm here to buy weapons. Are you here to sell them?!"

This won't happen...but an Emissary / Way of the Warrior double-bill sounds good. Include 1993's behind the scenes show hosted by Terry Farrell, from the archive, as an SD extra.
