Which CSI show is the best?

There seems to be a lot of CSI shows out there but which of them is the best to watch? I want to go on a CSI marathon...

Thank you.

I don't watch CSI, but I can tell you you have the wrong forum, what with this being Art and all. :p

As long as we're here, though...

The shows each have such a distinctive style, it's sometimes hard to believe that they're all done by the same group of producers. It's also tough to call one better than the other, just which one you like better than the others.

Personally, I take the Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart approach.

Marvelous show. All of them.

I've not really watched any of the CSI for quite some time, but I really think that "CSI:TOS" is the best, second I would give to NY. Miami is just to schlocky, too much yellow-filter camera work and too much nonsense around David Caruso.

^ Heh. That's exactly why I like Miami best - the 'nonsense around David Caruso' is hilarious.

Not that I watch much CSI, mind you. Personally, I find all of those shows so mind-numbingly dull that I get bored VERY quickly. Miami is less dull - mostly because of the 'nonsense around Caruso'...and also because of the scenery. As someone who comes from that part of the country originally, the cinematography makes me a bit homesick...but it's nice to see it.

But truthfully...rather than watch any of the CSIs at all, I counsel the OP to watch NCIS instead. It's a much better show, if you are looking for something in the law enforcement genre.

People who keep trying to compare NCIS with CSI obviously haven't watched NCIS because the shows have nothing in common beyond being shows related to solving crimes, usually murder. That's as far as it goes. NCIS is a fanastic show but it's not of the same type of show as CSI so let's put it aside, shall we? Comparing NCIS to CSI is as silly as comparing it to Law & Order SVU. Anyway, I would say in terms of personal interest, not to mention rewatchability, the original CSI wins. It's the funnier show, and the characters on the whole are more appealing, as are the storylines. CSI Miami is a very stylish show, and Horatio Cane is an interesting character, but I find it sidetracks a bit too much away from the science and the solving of the crimes, which is what makes the original so interesting. CSI NY never really got my interest, although I was watching it for awhile when Claire Forlani joined the cast, but it didn't last.

^I've watched every episode of NCIS. If I feel like comparing the shows based on their level of quality, I will.

Yes but that's not the question that was asked. He/she asked which of the CSI's is the best and NCIS is not one the CSI shows. Totally different franchise.

Anyway in response the original question, I chime in on the side of the original as well. I'm drawn to the science (albeit pretty sketchy) of the original whereas Miami seems more like "just a cop show." I haven't really watched NY so I can't really fairly compare it I suppose. But of the original and Miami, the original wins hands down. Although I felt the show lost a lot when Peterson left.

If there is nothing better to do on Thursday I will watch Las Vegas. Being on at 9 instead of 10 is a major advantahe for me. Miami is one of my wife's favorite shows, even though Delco left the show. We can watch New York together although I frequently fall asleep on it.

CSI:LV. Gil Grissom is probably my favorite character from any of the series.

CSI:NY is pretty good. It's still funny to see Gary Sinise on the small screen, but he's great. Now I'm saying the same thing about Fishburne on Las Vegas. :)

Can't stand the yellow filters and Caruso from Miami, though there are definitely episodes I've enjoyed.

I'd probably say Las Vegas followed by New York.

I just can't be bothered with the Miami one nowadays.

Plus, NY has Melina Kanakaredes.

This may seem a strange reason but my biggest problem with NY is that they are called CSI. I mean after a lifetime of watching I expect NY specific terms like IAB and CSU. Everytime I see the CSI windbreaker I say Nooooo!

Of the 40 or so CSI shows, my favs are

CSI, SPY the one about a retired secret agents who solve crime while sucking on delicious Jello pudding pops.

CSI, ROBOT like Mann and Machine but with out any action sequences, and with Styx's "Mr. Roboto" for theme music. The Brent Spiner guest star appearance really sold the show to me.

Deep Blue CSI using super intelligent sharks to solve murders is bound to ruffle fins. Still, Eric Roberts makes a great shark handler.
