They can be major and lead characters from the Original Trilogy and even predating those films in the timeline or supporting characters that you liked in previous movies and will enjoy seeing again (or hope have been written into the script even if no official announcements have been made that they have a role in the new film).
For me, it's a tie between Luke and Leia. The Skywalker Twins are such an integral part of the greater Star Wars story that I cannot wait for us to get our first glimpse of Luke from actual film footage. Leia could well be the new matriarch of the Rebel Alliance-turned-Resistance and be filling a role similar to what Mon Mothma performed during the OT era, and Carrie Fisher looks absolutely amazing and so full of energy as she jumps into her old role after more than thirty years. This is going to be one exciting moment for Star Wars fans, especially older ones who grew up with the Original Trilogy and its characters both good and bad. I can't wait for the premiere!
