Which baseball team is going to move to London?

Just two years before Buck Bokai's rookie season with the London Kings, we have yet to see any sort of expansion of the MLB to Europe. And since the 2015 London Kings are one of the greatest teams of all time, we have to assume that these are not expansion teams, they are an existing franchise moving to London.

So what are the series of events that will cause the London Kings to win in 2015? Could it be that a sudden economic surge in the UK cause some of the collapsing American cities to have to move their teams overseas? Could the London Kings be the Detroit Tigers?

There's no reason the London Kings couldn't have been a great team and still be an expansion. Lots of real life expansion teams have gotten into, or even won, the World Series in a short time after their 'birth' - the Florida (now Miami) Marlins were created in 1993 and won the World Series in 1997, and the Arizona Diamondbacks debuted in 1998 and won the 2001 WS.

And Italy had a team in the World Baseball Classic (the Pirates' closer, Jason Grilli, pitched for them).

Well, that's it then. The Fortitudo Bologna moves to London, changes their name to London Kings, and Bokai leads them to the World Series.

I see MLB expanding into Japan or Latin America before Europe. There's more of a fan base to be had there despite all the other problems of such an expansion.

No no no, the London Kings aren't winning the 2015 World Series. The Cubs are. Back to the Future Part II said so. ;)

Yeah well Epstein's got a lot of work to do in the next year if he's gonna pull that off. Here's hoping. ;)

The Kings don't win the World Series until about 15 years after Bokai joins the team. In 2015, he's just a rookie.

It would have been hilarious if the Marlins moved to the AL instead of the Astros. Then that might have been possible.

They didn't explicitly say the 2015 Kings won the world series but they included them in a debate about 'Greatest team of all time'. I think it's fair to say they won the WS.

Let's put it this way. Would you include the 2007 Patriots in a debate about the greatest American football team of all time?

Bokai's uniform seemed to have a bit of Britishness to it (there was a crown as part of the logo). And coupled with the fact that the team is called "Kings", it would seem to suggest the UK.

Or they called them the Kings as a nod to London, England.

^ And the only other Canadian city that has a chance would be Montreal, where some are attempting just that (i.e. a revived Expos).
