Where's R2-D2? (R2D2 in Star Trek?)

Hey-My Dad was a salesman for AMC when the Pacer came out. I LOVED that car-and truth be told it was just ten years ahead of it's time. The Ford Taurus had almost the exact same lines when it came out ten years later.

AMC was just way ahead of the curve in automotive engineering...yeah that's it!

The Taurus is actually a good car. The Pregnant Rollerskate wasn't.

The Pacer was a Corvette compared to the Gremlin. Ugh. That car was so ugly even Yugos steered clear of it.

The Gremlin competed in and won a lot of SCCA small car races. However, I agree that it was hideous. The 1970's were not a time that was known for good fashion sense and aesthetic taste.

Hey, we had a Gremlin. It used to spit out oil and feathers at my parents.

We had a brown AMC Hornet station wagon when I was a kid. I wish I could say that I had fond memories of that car, but alas, it's not to be.

You know I saw the film again on Thursday and specifically looked out for R2 where they said he would be and I still didn't see it. He must be tiny.

Yeah, he's not very big. The image in the Gizmodo item linked earlier was a detail taken from a larger screencap and he's even small in that.

And if you drove it after midnight with food on the backseat it'd turn into a monster that multiplied like crazy if you drove it on wet roads.

Did anyone see R2-D2 in the movie?

"There's an R2-D2 flying around in there somewhere (Transformers ROTF)," revealed Scott Farrar, the film's visual-effects supervisor, who also worked on the "Star Wars" episodes "Return of the Jedi" and "The Phantom Menace." "There's a little bit of space junk thrown in there; see if you can find it. It's a scene in the desert." Interestingly enough, George Lucas' charismatic droid also had a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in "Star Trek," which shares the same writing team as "Transformers." Is it a coincidence? "Perhaps," screenwriter Alex Kurtzman grinned mischievously. "Perhaps not."

Re: Where's R2-D2?

That is very annoying. He should not be there. How the heck am I supposed to fit that into canon? Unless.. Star Wars premiered on earth in the Trekiverse just like it did here and having him in the bar is just some kitschy antique decoration. I suppose this works, after all they obviously still had the Beastie Boys etc.. it's kind of weird though as it would mean my other universe is a fictional story in this universe..

Keenser makes a sighing noise just like R2D2 does when disappointed.

Of course it did. Star Wars was before the Eugenics wars. Therefore, the Star Trek Universe probably had SW, TESB, and RotJ.

They probably didn't get the prequels, though.

There was probably "The Phantom Menace" but the other two didn't get made because Khan killed Lucas for raping his childhood.
