I loved the wave. It was a nod to us fans who have supported The X-Files since it ended in 2002; it's not part of the actual plot or anything.
I don't think it was really meant to be "Mulder and Scully on vacation", but more DD and GA waving hi to the viewers. Just a silly, throwaway thing; not to be taken seriously.
The way I see it, if it's at the end of the credits, it's not in the damn movie. It's after the movie.^
If its not supposed to be part of the movie, than it shouldn't be in the damn movie!
Just sayin'...

Uhm, when does David Duchovny not look bored?Season seven isn't awful, but Duchovny looks so bored in almost every episode. Without the crazy enthusiasm he brought to earlier seasons, it just wasn't the same. But he brought that back in season eight.
Really? I thought Duchovny had some of his best episodes that season: Amor Fati, Closure two-parter and Requiem.
Thus my qualifier; he looks bored in almost every episode.![]()
He seemed pretty invested in the material early on. Indeed, his performance is often what makes the series work.
