Where was the sequel?

I know I'm gonna catch flak, but, I'm one of the 12 people who liked the 1997 Lost in Space, and wanted more.
I agree but I didn't want to the first person in these parts to say it. :)
And I'm #3... 9 more to go. :)
Four. :)

Watchmen. Specifically, I want a Nite Owl II movie.

I could name a couple more Alan Moore movies -- Constantine, V For Vendetta, LXG. The first should have a sequel, I'm curious what a sequel to the second might be, and the third I wouldn't have minded.

The things I want sequels to are in development. There's another Riddick movie on its way, Ron Moore is writing a script for a sequel to I, Robot. Things are afoot.

The Rocketeer, the film that probably landed Joe Johnston his current Cap directing gig. I was so hyped from this film and badly wanted a sequel to see Cliff Secord go up against an evil Nazis version of the Rocketeer, but it wasn't to be.

I can agree with a few on here but I'll add a new one.

SAHARA

It was just good enough with room to grow the characters and the exploits should one have happened.

A very fun movie with lots more Clive Cussler novels that could be adapted. Unfortunately, I suspect that Cussler's lawsuit against Paramount has soured its chances.

Count me among the folks here who think Gremlins 2 is better than the 1st one. Occasionally, there are sequels that are simply better because they have learned from & improved upon the original. Addams Family Values is the other sequel I would put into this category, and maybe Shanghai Knights.

I would have liked to see David Lynch (or at least his cast) do some Dune sequels.

While I think its time has passed, Ghostbusters 3 would have been awesome had it come out in the early 1990s.

I'd love to see Bryan Singer & Brandon Routh get the chance to do a follow up to Superman Returns.

They say they're working on another Riddick movie. I hope so but I won't believe it until I see the trailer. Same with Underworld IV.

Whatever happened to Dusk Watch, the 3rd movie in Timur Bekmambetov's Night Watch series?

I think I've got a pretty good idea for Galaxy Quest II. The 1st movie ended with the old cast returning for a new version of the TV show. As the sequel begins, a brash, dim-witted actor/producer (think Kevin Sorbo on Andromeda) takes over the series and writes out most of the original cast in favor of younger, "hipper" actors. This then causes a violent youth revolt on the alien planet where they think that the show is a documentary. Both the old & new casts are drafted to lead their respective sides in the civil war.

I would be incalculably happy if Ben Affleck & Jon Favreau did Daredevil II.

I've heard some rumors that Keanu Reeves does want to do a Constantine sequel. Here's hoping.

It goes without saying that Serenity II would be welcome (even though doing it without Wash would be a major buzzkill).

Only semi-sci-fi but I'd like to see Trey Parker & Matt Stone get the chance to do another epic, big screen South Park musical. The TV show is great but there's not enough singing.

The Incredibles, where the hell is a sequel for this?
I personally have no wish to see prepubescent children being shot at with automatic weapons again, and would thus be quite happy to never see a sequel.

Another vote for The Rocketeer.

Thing is, most movies I'd like to see get sequels have indeed gotten at least one, though of course not nearly all of them have lived up to their inspirations. And then many sequels have poisoned the well, so to speak: The Mummy, Zorro, Star Wars, etc.

A Last Starfighter sequel could indeed be fun, but only if it is a sequel and not a remake/reboot. Just have the Alex actor play a mentor role to a new pilot if necessary.

i agree with "the last starfighter" and "the rocketeer", and would love to see sequels to..."Willow", and "Lost in Space".

The only real flaw of PII (besides the fact that Spielberg didn't return to direct this one) ...

Minor correction: The original Poltergeist was directed by Tobe Hooper. Spielberg's credited as co-producer and "story by" writer.

I'm aware of that. But I'm also aware that Steven Spielberg directed Poltergeist regardless of whose name was listed in the credits. ;)

I didn't exactly "like" it, but it's watchable enough, and there were enough good bits that I wouldn't have minded a sequel.

Too many times they make sequels when they shouldn't. To examples, IMO, are GREMLINS and POLTERGIEST and there are many others.

Gremlins 2 is widely considered superior to the original. Not by me but... ;)

I love Gremlins 2, and it's more fun than the original. It's pure kitsch. The original is the better movie in many respects, but the sequel is very funny.

So you won't be going to see 'Kick Ass' then?

By the way, another vote for a Galaxy Quest sequel - The Search for Grabthar's Hammer!!

I'd only want a "The Incredibles 2" if it is as smart, well thought out, and nuanced as the first film. I can't imagine any fan of the film would just want a quickie sequel.

I bet 4 billion quatloos that Last Starfighter remake is being planned by somebody, somewhere.
So long as they don't change the Gunstar. That'd totally rape my childhood.

Joking aside, I wouldn't be up for a reboot but I'd love to return to the universe and have a little romp around with a follow up.

The Gunstar was one of the coolest ships ever. So they'd be nuts to mess with it.

But yeah, I'd like to again visit Rylos!

LXG sequel that follows the graphic novel sequel, please.

That way we'd get a period War of the Worlds too. :)
