Where should I go?

Find a beginning swing or salsa class. This will both improve your confidence and give you an icebreaker.

Since genuine suggestions are disregarded, I say you should rock down to Electric Avenue.

And then you should take it higher.

When I'm bored or bothered I love to take a long drive to somewhere I've never been before. The destination doesn't really matter and doesn't have to be anywhere important or even that far away, it's just about being alone with your thoughts and enjoying the ride for a few hours.

Sometimes you make some cool little urban discoveries which aren't important enough to be on a map but might still be interesting to you; good places to eat, a beautiful vista to take a picture from, a neat architectural feature, or an unusual place to shop. I usually have a Thomas Guide, a notebook, and my digital camera along for the ride to take note of any new finds I might want to revisit later.

I find driving relaxing and liberating (so long as I'm not stuck in traffic), and you have to look at it from that perspective. You seem to get frustrated a lot while driving though, so you'd have to learn to just let the little things slide and appreciate the time and the view.

^I do the same -- well, I walk or bike as I don't drive or have a car. I love sseing parts of the city I've not really explored before. AN d ]]] Sis the most relaxing and liberating geeling in the world. It also relaly halps to bring me down after a olong day -- getting away from people for awhile is a stron g restoriative for me.
But now I think the AMibien is kicking in because it is becoming very difficult to type. Time to go to bsleep!

That's exactly what I liked to do during my freshman year of college, when I was up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Owing partly to the fact that Green Bay is the armpit of America, I often chose to hop in my car on a Friday night, cruise down one of the county highways and simply drive for a while.

Now I'm in eastern Iowa, and if I'm going to any destination that isn't actually in the city limits proper, I have to drive about a half-hour to get anywhere. :(
