The Political Compass

Economic Left/Right: -0.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.18

I wouldn't have thought I'd be that centric, maybe a little more towards the right, but all in all, it's quite accurate

On the second graph, I came out pretty much in the center of the libertarian/left quadrant.

I expected the libertarian result...but felt I was more 'moderate center' than 'moderate left'.

I suspect, however, that this was the result of a few questions that used terms like "always". Even if I agree with a statement, whenever I hear the term 'always', I tend to disagree. There are always exceptions out there to basic principles. :p

One of my annoyances with that particular test, and the reason my results vary a bit each time I think, is that I don't know how precisely to take the wording. For example, "it is a waste of time trying to rehabilitate some criminals". I went for 'agree', because I know for a fact there are some criminals that cannot be rehabilitated, and trying is a waste of time. But I don't know what they mean by 'some'. '1 in 10' or '1 in a million'? Because the meaning would change my answer.

Okay, this is me:

Somewhat misleading, as they don't take into account the reasons for answers. I answered, as cultcross said, that it is useless to try to rehabilitate some criminals, because that is true; but I still think the system should be heavily geared toward rehab. I hate guns, but I still support the Second Amendment out of principle. I'm anti-abortion because I'm pro-science and pro-equal rights, not out of religion. The problem is that politics is incompatible with reality. :rommie:

Yeah, the very first question is one I find odd.

"If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations."

Sure, it should serve humanity. However generally speaking trans-national corporations do that, too. Do I agree or disagree now? I tend to say disagree because I think that's in keeping with the intent of this question, but I'd rather skip it.

Or "The rich are too highly taxed." Where? In Germany, in North Korea, in Singapore, Monaco?

On that one, I think if you ask yourself that question, your answer is 'disagree'. You're supposed to answer your gut instinct, and I think if you are against higher percentage taxes on the rich, you'd just answer 'agree' without further analysis. I try to answer the questions with the first answer that pops into my head because I think it's a fairer assessment of what I feel rather than what I subconsciously tailor the result to be.

That's what I answered. :)
(Though I would've also disagreed with "taxed not enough.")

The problem is, my gut instinct on that question is to ask: "Where?" :D

Same here. :)

Libertarian. I think it's comical that people really try and differentiate between Fascism and Communism. They both end up essentially the same. Strong central government telling you what to have. Just other ways of going about getting to a strong government.

I think people should do what they want in a free society as long as they don't harm others. We need to get away from a strong central government and get it back to what it was supposed to do and let states figure out how to give their people things like health care, retirement and other things that have become entitlements. I'm pretty much a Ron Paul disciple.

Republican: 92% And proud of it.

Anarchist: 83% I...guess that means, adding the top two together, I'm a Conservative with Libertarian leanings....

Fascist, Socialist, Green, Democrat: 25% I'm insulted that it's that high.

Commie: 8% (Seriously--what's the difference between Socialist and Communist?)

Nazi: 0% Sorry, TNZ minions. :p

As for the Political Compass:

Well--Conservative, then!
