I think it is now time for me to go and read some fresh perspectives by someone who makes more sense than some of what has been said here this evening. I think I'll check in on what Ricky Santorium has said today..... Good Night, All!
Like GR was a "SciFi" guy when he created Star Trek. He was known for cop shows and westerns. As "sci-fi shows" go Fringe is pretty good. It's Trek without Gene Rodenberry is all. He's been deleted as substituted with J.J. It's back to just being a generic space opera again. It might as well be brand new and called 'Forbidden Planet' as though Gene never existed. Or as Picard might have said at Kirk's funeral - 'Im glad you're gone so that we can get on with making Star trek movies without being in your shadow.' Sure it's a monumantal task, which is why you get the right talented enough sci-fi people to do it. J.J. is not a sci-fi guy. None of them are. All of a sudden they think they are now though.. with Fringe. LOL.

There's been more Star Trek with out GR than with. The ones with out were more successful.
Only because he produced a sci-fi show same as JJ and others. Funny how that works. So there is no difference.Like GR was a "SciFi" guy when he created Star Trek. Difference is he's a sci-fi guy now. Isn't he? You could say no. don't feel bad. I understand.
Basically no trek fan (an I mean a fan of the franchise, not just one aspect like TOS) really likes the fact that Trek has gone in this direction.
I didn't realize I've been lying to myself for most of my life. I guess I'm not a serious fan after all. I feel soooooo jaded right now.![]()
I am now depressed and fearful, myself. I am left to wonder....
....what ELSE have I been lying to myself about all these years?
Edit: Forgot this wasn't TNZ.That makes everything true and everything a lie. You should know that I took up space in college and know almost everything about nothing.

I hate to break it to you, but (brace yourself!) you're actually a Lost in Space fan . . . .
Hard to believe, I know, but you'll have to trust us on this. We know the truth--even if you're still fooling yourself.
Hmmm, the Statue of Liberty being given a slutty stripper outfit, could be fun watching heads explode over that. Though, I'll pass on defacing Mount Rushmore with Beiber or Trump, even I have my limitsStop being ridiculous and blowing things completely out of proportion. It's a new STAR TREK timeline for a new set of films, not giving the Statue of Liberty a slutty stripper's outfit or carving the face of Justin Bieber or Donald Trump on Mount Rushmore. It's a commercial entertainment franchise WE don't own the creative rights to. Not a revered, holy institution or international historical landmark.

Hmmm...You've stated you saw it 6 times in the theater, and own the DVD. I don't see anyone suggesting you only hate it, because the Internet convinced you that "True" Trerk fans must hate the movie. So, why is it you insist upon repeatedly suggesting that people who like it have been somehow coerced into liking it? That knife can cut both waysI can accept that different people enjoy different things. Its just I feel people sometimes aren't honest with themselves when it comes to what they *really* feel.
Someone is holding you captive?
I was referring to the people who *claim* they have no problem with nu-Trek.
