Amen to that.

I mean...come on! Zachary Quinto and the great Leonard Nimoy in the same film? Two Spocks from different timelines? My Nerdy Senses were tingling so ferociously I thought I was sitting on a battery-powered neck massager!

Hint: it's not for necks.

Yes I was finally Spock sated after ST:XI. Though of course I managed to go back for more.

Wait...I thought the creation of a new timeline and reality erased the old characters and reality? Why, then, is Spock Prime(Nimoy) even in the movie? Shouldn't he have simply faded or blinked into nonexistence? 2387/Picard-era Spock is a clear canon violation!

Meh. Playing devil's advocate isn't very fun. Kind of sapped my soul a little.

Trek was about the future and destiny but it's been ripped away now and co-opted by J.J. who's pimping it out and owns it's soul sold to him by Spock. Now it's just a thug on a Starship in the next exploitation. He zeroed in on what made TOS so magical alright by discarding it.

Would you clone your spouse?
Comparing a tv show to a spouse? I hope to the heavens you're not married.

Did you even watch the damn film? It distilled the essence of TOS down into a 2 hour movie. No soul selling, no gangsta on the bridge just TOS somewhat updated to modern times but still completely recognizable as TOS.

As I said, they blowed up an important Star Trek world out of the blue via dubious science, a pretty big Trek crime in my estimation.

Sure. It'd be a hell of a three-way.

I don't know your age, but I am old enough to remember that putting a Next Generation on the Enterprise was considered a pretty big Trek crime at the time.

Yep, they just blew it up with no consideration for the prime universe....the universe they're not involved with. Pretty selfish.
