Where are the Zakdorn?

In TNG we were introduced to a species called the Zakdorn who are literary billed as having the 'greatest' innately strategic minds in the galaxy, and they are a full member or the Federation so my question is this, Where are the Zakdorn during the Dominion War?

They signed a non-aggression treaty so that while the Dominion enslaved the Alpha Quadrant they could wait out the war, hanging out in their favourite Supply Depot and resolve to slowly weaken the Dominion over the period of several hundred years from within.
The Sisko had other plans.

I imagine the makers of ds9 didn't want to include all the raced in the quadrant in the Dominion war, so they could avoid spending 15 minutes an episode every time they wanted to list them all.or maybe the zakdorn found it to be better strategically to not be involved, or to have the founders win.

The Zakdorn were having an election year, so were naturally obsessing over salient ethical dilemmas; most notably mu-mus vs lycra pantsuits as the most girth-inclusive planetary outfit. Unfortunately the election did not settle the question as promised, to the Quadrant's prolongued ennui.

Next war, though, they hope to wax philosophical over lattes and biscotti about the immoral violence of their Federation security umbrella. (The enemy is thus far immaterial).

They became trapped in the Plot Hole....a twist in the fabric of continutity, from which there is no escape.

There's also Worf's comment that the Zakdorns' reputation might not be all that valid because no-one had bothered challenging them for decades DUE to their rep. It's entirely possible they'd stagnated by sitting on their laurels too long.

Perhaps their reputation came from when the Zakdorn was not part of the Federation?

My theory is that the Zakdorn, being master strategists, probably arrived at a similar conclusion to what Dr. Bashir's genetically modified cohorts thought was best. The result of that thinking is anybody's guess. Perhaps, as sumbuddyx suggested above, they decided to cut ties with the Federation and sit the war out with a nonaggression pact. Or maybe they tried to convince Starfleet to save lives and surrender, and were told to go scratch. Perhaps both...
