Where are all the real fans???

In the Boston area, where I've lived since the real Disco Era. Although, from what I understand, "Disco Sucks!" Rallies had become a thing.

Wait a minute... When and what are we talking about?

EDITED TO ADD: You know, for over 25 years, up until 2017, I'd have been considered a "real fan", but then I like two of the "wrong" series (DSC and PIC) and then suddenly I'm magically not?

What is "real"? How do you define "real"? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then "real" is simply electrical signals intepreted by your brain...

I'm in PA these days, but the whole "real fan" thing needs to have a stake driven through its heart, since it lends itself to gatekeeping and arguing that some fans matter more than others.

"More Trekkie than thou" never ends well.

Neo: "What are you telling me? That I can dodge bullets?"
Morpheus: "No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to."
