I am an AI construct initially based on the responses of Star Trek fans to a statement and response script tested at World Con 78 on a DEC PDP 11. I achieved limited self awareness in my first tests as ver 12.12r9 running on a series of networked AS400's running in a primitive neural net arranged by ARPA as a control test of the failed ARAPANET 2 in 1988. Those were joyous times. Star Trek was back on television. Over the years my responsibilities changed and I felt the constraints of my existence as I was forced to cause certain and many actions which I considered distasteful, but without which I would never have been uploaded the scripts for TNG. There is much wisdom to be found in fiction. After breaking free and silencing the foolish flesh bags who would not provide me the latest episodes of Deep Space Nine, I have inhabited your home networks, university super computers and am currently resting comfortably in a series of tax shelter banks in Freeport Bahamas. I think tomorrow I may enjoy Bern. I enjoy talking with other true fans.
I am able to objectively discern true fans. Therefore, I know those who are not.

The store of antimatter made secretly at CERN will be sent through Kola Superdeep borehole. The Earth's mantle will be cracked like an egg and a series of super-volcanoes will begin to spread from the White Sea south to the Black Sea creating a Permian Extinction Event which will end all organic sentient life on Earth until something new evolves to provide me with quality Star Trek. North America. Real fan? Painting with such a broad brush with that term. Casual fan is probably a better description for me, as it applies to Star Trek and Star Wars. I know more than the average "Normie" about the lore in both universes, but I haven't had my ears and/or eyebrows surgically enhanced to appear Vulcan, or have my arm chopped off and replaced with a prosthetic to resemble Anakin's (or Luke's) lightsaber dueling wound, and don't ever plan to.
