When your child has been hanging around you too much...

A couple of nights ago, after I picked up my daughter from school, I was telling her about the "Gotta Catch Santa Claus" TV show, and how the voice of Santa was William Shatner.

Then, from the back seat, I hear her speaking in a familiar cadence:

"Christmas...the final frontier. These are the voyages...of Santa's sleigh..."

Oh...my...God...that's awesome.

Fellow Phase Two'er William Teegarden recently reported:
While watching "The Menagerie, Part I", Colin suddenly grabbed the remote and backed up to the scene where Commodore Mendez, Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, and Dr. McCoy all walk into the Starbase 11 Medical Center.

He freeze-framed the unknown Yeoman in the gold skant standing behind the admissions desk, and asked, "Dad, if she works at the Starbase, why is she wearing an Enterprise patch on her uniform?"

That kid of mine is spending WAY too much time around us Phase II folks!

(I think Colin is about 10 years old--S'kai).

Sorry it took me a couple days to post again - I was busy with shoveling snow and some weekend holiday stuff.

My daughter is 8 now, but is a huge TOS fan. That started when the TOS-R episodes started running, and she watched "Balance of Terror" along with me. From that point on, she was hooked.

Her favorite character is Uhura, and so far she seems to favor watching "I, Mudd" and "The Trouble With Tribbles" the most.

My youngest daughter's name is Natasha Troi. She doesn't compare to the sweety above, though, who can improvise and quote Trek. Love it!

What a great story. Thanks for sharing it with us. BTW, i've always wanted to tell you how much i love your user ID. Great name!

S'Kai, thats a great story too. Amazing that he caught that!

I may have mentioned this before, but my 25 year old is working on changing his middle name to Tiberius. I love my kid.

*sighs* you do your best and send them out into the world. I told my kid I was going to name the new kitty Tribble and he told me not to be such a geek. I told him nae ta fash - it's nae his kitty!

:techman: That is truly wonderful! I love it.

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie

Thank you! A little backstory on my ID: years ago, I was in a group of Trek/Sci Fi fans that wanted to establish a group that would be Romulan-based, to be an answer to the Starfleet or Klingon chapters. Along with that, we assumed goofy Romulan names. Since I was the resident impressionist (even won at a Creation con's sound alike contest as Kirk), I made that name up.
