When you all watched 'Threshold'

Eh, each to their own. I can't overlook / ignore the atrocious "science" in the episode, but if others find value in it that's neither here nor there.

I just figure there was some genetic contamination going on too, like spider dna in the air. i dont know. i still like the episode.

The only problem with Genesis was how DNA works in reality. It’s internally consistent with how DNA works on Star Trek.

The lizard thing you can’t even draw a line from A to B in a make believe world.

I liked "Genesis." It was insane, but it wasn't boring. As a rule, I'll take batshit crazy over dull any day. :)
Which is the same logic I use in regards to Threshold.
The Fight is so much worse than Threshold :ack:
For example, The Fight was just dull, and I barely remember it these days. Threshold, for all its flaws, certainly was not dull, and was therefore memorable.

Not a terrible episode, but it does break the story logic of the universe. They know how to get home, know the effects and how to cure the mutations caused by them.

It should've ended the series right there.

I just started watching Voyager. I haven't seen very many episodes yet. Sometimes I fall asleep before the ending, it's not a reflection of the show, it's just on TV sort of late for me.
I hope to see the salamander episode soon.
I like salamanders.

Spirit Folk?

I find The Fight to have the same kind of Charm as TNG's masks. I kinda like it, even though I recently watched The Fight and yeah it's not as good as I thought it was. As for the worst episode of Voyager, Spirit Folk was terrible and being set on the Holodeck made it worse.

I was too revolted by Tom Paris's tongue falling out to wrap my head around the implausibility of it all. In retrospect it's an absurdly dumb episode that doesn't stand up to any scrutiny. Over the years I've considered it from flat out bad to so bad it's good and back again.

I did enjoy Genesis. It was atmospheric and creepy. Obviously the science is absurd but it's more charmingly cheesy than the horror story of Threshold. I probably wouldn't watch both episodes back to back though:lol:

I had a lot of fun watching Threshold; it might be the most fun in the series, but I found it to be one of the least plausible Star Trek episodes ever. I wish the writers used something other than infinite speed as their excuse for magic evolution. The magic evolution was also i really mplausible, but I really like how they didn't demonstrate that human evolution inevitably makes people more intelligent, gives them psychic powers, and might turn them into balls of light. And I wish they didn't have baby salamanders that they abandoned; that just brings up awkward ethical questions that are best left for a full episode, rather than the last 30 seconds.

Not even remotely as bad as "Fair Haven"/"Spirit Folk".
This.

The two most stupid episodes of the series. They make "Threshold" look like Shakespeare.

"The Fight" is a Chuckles episode so I dislike it on that basis alone, but it isn't as irredeemably insulting and stupid as the other two.

Not too many problems with Threshold. Yes, the plot doesn't hold up very well and there might have been some minor logical discrepancies (to put it euphemistically), but I watch Star Trek to be entertained. And entertaining it certainly was- more so than many dull "tried-and-true but mediocre" episode recipes. It even featured some genuine character development for Paris.

Episodes that are on the very bottom on my list are usually the ones I actually take (moral) offence to, and Threshold doesn't come anywhere near to that.
