When will/was the first time you told a girl about your STD's?

I'm the same way. Although I do also watch regular TV (not as much during the summer, but that's OK).

My girlfriend has seen my STD's, my comic book boxes, even my D&D books.
She's a good egg, even something of an enabler. She bought me the how to speak Klingon book. The only drawback is she doesn't like TOS. I'll wear her down slowly.

That's a rare gem of a woman. Cling to her like grim death.:)

Mrs. SicOne saw the comic books, the bookcases full of sci-fi books, the old Army footlocker full of GI Joes and Star Wars toys and other stuff, the starship models, the two posters of babes in bikinis with firearms, and all other assorted bizarre crap...and she married me anyway.

Far as I'm concerned, that completely negates any future complaints about my "nerdiness".

Gentlemen, what you want is to show her your Trek stuff. She needs to know that you are into it, so she can find a way to coexist with it, because both you and her will be happier if she has no (or little) problem with Trek, or any nerdiness (or pervisions) you might be into.

That being said, unless you know she's a Trek fan or a sci-fi fan, it might be wise to wait until the third or fourth date, so you've got her on the line and are reelin' her in, and she can compare this new revelation with what she knows about you thus far, and find a good balance...if you confront her with full-blown nerdiness on the first date, she may flee shrieking into the night.

Well, I went back to school and lived in the dorms by the time I got together with my fiancee. But I don't really have anything Trek aside from the Wrath of Khan movie on DVD.She wouldn't have gotten a hint if she got to see my old apartment. But I did mention it to her. She didn't really care. She doesn't watch TV anyway. I don't watch TV anymore since I went back to school. Perhaps the STDs are in our future when we get our own place with a DVD collection :)

I of course mean Star Trek DVD's. I think it's every nerdy guys dream to be with a girl with tons of STD's.
I know one in Paris. She's single and proud to be a geek. But she doesn't care for online forums. :p She's also proud to be single over 30. Maybe her STDVDs keep her company.

I'll chime in with the story of how my parents met. Their roommates were dating and decided to set my parents up. So, my mom and her roommate went over to my dad's apartment. (I think the point was to have pizza or something.) My dad was apparently not into the whole idea of being set up, so he was sitting in the living room watching Star Trek re-runs. (TOS. This was in the early '80's, before TNG came out.) My mom noticed and made a comment about the episode that was on (I don't recall which one, but it was one of her favorites), and they got to talking about their mutual love of Star Trek. They got married 9 months later, I was born 9 months after that, and they just celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary. :)

Naturally, I was raised on Star Trek. :bolian:

Since my whole life revolves around the Arts & Sciences, I'm not really interested in hiding it. And, aside from a casual date or something, I have no desire to be involved with a Mundane. Any woman I might have a relationship with would have to be just as 'nerdy and geeky' (i.e. just as 'imaginative and creative') as I am.

Vulcan Princess, good story! Thanks for sharing!:)

I never try to hide my geekiness, my last girlfriend wasn't a SF&F fan but I did end up getting her in to Buffy, and Red Dwarf.
