When will the Constitution Class make an appearance?

^ A distinct possibility...

And I'd like to see a character refer to the class (in-universe) as a "Connie" just to mess with people's heads.
They've already made in-universe semi-official ship nicknames a thing with the "Disco" exercise gear, so why not?

Gotcha! These would be US Navy nicknames?
US Navy used "Connie" for the Constellation because there was no USS Constitution or Constitution class, although I know of at least two former Naval aviators who called it "Stella." Alternate nicknames: The Wobblin Goblin, Noah's Bitch, the Barf Barge, and USS Neverdock.

Sounds like "Sinking Sarah" for the Saratoga and "Forest Fire" for the Forrestal.

I expect nothing less from a franchise that gave us the retro of ST 2009, ST:ID and ST:B (even if they chose a different decade to retro initially).
I don't remember colons in their titles..... I'll go hide now :nyah:

So, considering the design of the Discovery, do you think that April Fools' concept art of the Enterprise by @Vektor might actually be closer to reality? :D

(EDIT: This artwork was created by @Vektor as an April Fools' joke prior to the 2009 movie, since at the time we didn't know what the new Enterprise would look like.)

The series finale would be perfect. The very last minute of the very last episode and Discovery pulls into space dock just as the Enterprise warps outta there and everyone of the crew stares in amazement at it's awesomeness.

No doubt they'll use it as a prop or something when ratings start to drop to bring all the waners back.

That... actually... fits...
I like the battleship style turrets. Awesome!

Aside from the turrets I could see that as a Spore Drive fitted Constiution-class starship that Starfleet is working on while USS Discovery is out knocking on the Klingon's heads.

Yeah, back when it was still the 2008 movie, IIRC. The gaps do help explain the saucer undercut, if we took this as a primitive version of the ship as seen in TOS.

Or you could just get rid of the undercut and solve all those deck-layout problems immediately, which seems to have been the post-2009 approach to starship design.
