When will the Constitution Class make an appearance?

I wouldn't be surprised if DSC ignored that bit.

Shouldn't make any difference anyway, since the crew expansion seems to have taken place by 2257—at least on some ships—per "Obsession" (TOS). All we would have to reason is that it occurred after "The Cage" (2254) and prior to DSC (2256 presently). Likewise, if they did have a Connie with the smaller complement, we could just say that while some ships were already getting the increase, it took longer for others (or indeed, that it was never made uniform across all of them).

I don't know why, I guess I just assumed that it did. I can't remember, did it actually damage the Enterprise itself in "Obsession"?

(IIRC, young Lt. Kirk actually had to take command of the Farragut for a short time immediately after the attack, because the XO was injured. Since as far as I know, being attacked by the cloud creature meant instant death, I assumed that the XO's injuries related to damage to the ship itself...)

No damage to the ship herself in "Obsession" (TOS), despite the creature having free roam through the ventilation system. No mention of Farragut's XO being injured or Kirk taking command, either. Don't know where that's from, but it's not in the episode.

(Still, as I said above, it's not implausible that if half the crew including the captain were suddenly killed, things could have gone awry to the point where there ended up being damage as a secondary result.)

It wasn’t necessary because it was a homage.

DSC isn’t an homage. It takes place in that time period.

Vektor's is the absolute best without really changing anything, just with better detailing. Maybe with obvious aztec-ing.

That said, I like the other ones shown here too. They aren't too far away from the original ala: the Kelvin-prise.

I like Vektor's version of the TOS ship a great deal. I like Gabe's work in general, but his Enterprise is not my favorite...it's rather clumsy.

I've had that top picture as my desktop background for ages. Though I did Photoshop the nacel domes to have the series style lights.

To me it looks like a brutalist-style building with 1930s skyscraper roof domes on the nacelles.
