When Will TCM Air Star Wars?

It's also a question of the audience -- whilst many of us love both, I'd think the majority of their viewers would be indifferent about it given how much other exposure it has.

The reason it's my default station is the 30s and 40s movies. And the 50s. 60s and 70s are okay. I really don't want to see anything more recent than that. Maybe they can pull a VH-1 and split into a couple of subchannels-- 30s-60s and 70s-90s.

There are quite a few '70s movies on the schedule. I just got Fellini's Roma on the DVR, The Black Stallion was on a few days ago, as was the wonderful Bound For Glory, Rollercoaster, Beneath the Planet of the Apes and so on. Of course the heart of the schedule is '30s through '60s, but more recent movies are a lot easier to find elsewhere.

I disagree completely. A good movie is a good movie regardless of when it was made, I'm glad there's a channel like TCM that follows that principle, and respect them for not watering-down their programming concept like... pretty much every other cable channel. If they go more toward movies of the last 30 years, they will leave their niche and be competing with any number of other movie channels.

I don't want to see anything more recent than say 30 years ago on a CLASSIC movie channel. It should be like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A movie should be at least 30 years old to be considered for addition to their roster.
