I actually want a camera in my fridge*. And I want that camera accessible from the local network. However, the point where it gets seriously messed up is when the camera is on the Internet, and to access it I need to go through an Internet service on the other side of the planet, which was written by a sixth grader working for a contractor who went out of business 5 years ago.
And to know people pay more for that kind of stuff. We had a client who wished to get rid of their rack of servers, and move them all to Amazon because they wished to be ‘in the cloud’, because they didn't want to be behind the times.
* On a second thought, knowing how disgusting it is inside, not really. But I would stream it to other people. I like to commit crimes against humanity, you know.
