When is "The internet of everything" too much?

Yeah.. and then have the fridge make an appointment with the AA because its AI thinks you drink too much, also that will be told to your insurance company so you'll get to pay more oh and there's cop waiting to test your blood alcohol levels the second you leave your house.. :p

I actually want a camera in my fridge*. And I want that camera accessible from the local network. However, the point where it gets seriously messed up is when the camera is on the Internet, and to access it I need to go through an Internet service on the other side of the planet, which was written by a sixth grader working for a contractor who went out of business 5 years ago.

And to know people pay more for that kind of stuff. We had a client who wished to get rid of their rack of servers, and move them all to Amazon because they wished to be ‘in the cloud’, because they didn't want to be behind the times.

* On a second thought, knowing how disgusting it is inside, not really. But I would stream it to other people. I like to commit crimes against humanity, you know.

My fridge would probably just be sad about how little I actually drink. It would probably go on social media and try to organise a party for me.

Reminds me of a scene in the movie "The Island" they had toilets that analyzed the urine of the clones and could inform them of health issues and dietary changes that needed to be made were forwarded to the people that handed out their meals.

And bang real life imitates art and we have those now. Only they don't report to anyone online. Yet.

The invention of the TV remote control was the beginning of the edge of a slippery slope. Once we decided that getting up, walking 5 feet and choosing between 3 channels was a chore, we lost our right to complain about anything that follows.

Yeah, I know. I complain anyway. :)
