When is Shore Leave?

Just got an email back from Inge:

Welcome aboard!
Look out, Shore Leave . . . both of us Minnesota boys are comin' back! All those New York authors may outnumber us, they may outsell us, but, dammit all, we have to spend a lot more money to get there! So that'll show 'em.

Er . . . wait a minute . . .

Speaking of this general part of North America, I have to say that Manitoba was surprisingly well-represented in the guest roster at Shore Leave last year, considering where it's held--myself, Dean Haglund, and Gwynyth Walsh all hail from here, as does Amy Sisson's husband. :)

Yo Edgar! I can't remember if I asked you this: did you go to Worldcon when it was in Winnipeg?

More on-topic, just confirmed Shore Leave today. Can't wait!

(Edgar, you need to come and represent the Canadian contingent. My husband can't do it alone! Wait, that didn't sound right....)

Oh goodie, Amy will be back. Just remember, guys, I saw her first.

Yeah, but while you were lookin', other people were doin'.

Er....I don't think I said that right. :p

I've just resigned myself to not having the time or the funds to attend until after college and med school are done. But after that - I'm there, baby!

^ Well, by then, most of us will be old enough to require frequent medical attention. :: rimshot ::

I kid! I kid!

Odds are that some day you and I will meet up and then you will pay for your insolence.

A quality cane is a lethal weapon! :vulcan:

Yes, Grandmother ... By the time that happens, you won't remember this. Or what you had for breakfast. ;)

Hey - six more years isn't that long.

But in that case, I'm perfectly fine with people needing frequent medical attention. I like getting paid.

1. I wouldn't count on me forgetting. I remember things like that back to childhood days. ;)

2. Since I have the same thing for breakfast every day (coffee and ice water), I won't forget THAT either.

Oh my, you stay away from the boards for just a couple of days, and look what happens!

For the record, Dayton is easily the hottest ex-Marine Trek writer that I know. Bubba has the dirtiest mind behind the most innocent face. But Bob is definitely the sweetest!

Can't wait to see everyone! ;)

Translation: The Ward is the only ex-Marine Trek writer that Amy knows; the Dilmore, if he didn't appear so innocent, would have been put away years ago; and Bob is served well by comparison to the company he keeps. ;)
