The month I turned 9, the biggest thing on tv was Apollo 13. And I don't mean the movie.

Let's see, we're talking 1968 or so, so that would have been 2001, Planet of the Apes, Barbarella, and Rosemary's Baby. I confess my parents wouldn't let me see the last two, and I didn't actually catch up with the first APES film until a few years later.

I remember I wanted to see Rosemary's Baby, because I gathered that it was about an evil devil baby or something, but, gosh, my parents didn't want to take a nine-year-old to a movie where Mia Farrow gets raped by Satan. Go figure.

I didn't catch up with Barbarella until college, many years later.
